Forum URL: trioshogwarts.proboards35.comI would prefer Craig, Martyn or Pat answer this since this does concern TOS. Alright, a member on my board told one of my other members-who happens to be my best friend- that there is some kind of abuse happening on my board that will get my site deleted. I have a feeling that she will be the one to report the abuse and is trying to set me up. I have a massively large board so I can't follow everything. However, when I hear a report of abuse, I want to follow up on it and take care of the situation. So far, she won't divulge any specifics about the situation to me. As a matter of fact she's rebuffed most of my attempts to get the information that she alleges. The most she's told my friend is that someone is using my board to mentally abuse another member. I know that normally, admins get about 24 hours to take care of the violation if one is validated through a TOS report, unless the abuse is commited by a member of the staff or has been happening for a prolonged period without anyone doing anything about it. Those situations result in an automatic deletion. I continue trying to get in contact with her to check out the accusations she's made, but I want to know if there's anything else I can do. I have spent a very long time on my board and don't want to see it deleted. So, I thought I'd come ask here in case she's trying to wait out a period to get an automatic deletion for my board.

If the accusations aren't true, they won't delete the board. And they don't sound true. If you can find a thread or some evidence of it, get rid of it immediately. If there's nothing, they've got nothing to base it on.

Also a thing to add, if it's happening in PM's those are hard to regulate. I would send out owls and exclude her account and ask the members if there are any problems that need to be addressed. You could try suspending her account as she maybe the one trying to actually get your board deleted. I do remember a while back you had mentioned in GT about a problem user that was stealing your images and basically harrassing you. I wonder if this might not being related?

It's a different girl Storm. The other one finally left me alone. Now, I know if this is false that I have nothing to worry about. I have made several of my members aware of the situation.
However, I'd rather be safe than sorry. So, I wanted to check what I could do in case I was reported for something that was valid, and becuase of a time frame, automatically get deleted. For all I know, these reports are true, and until I have proof that they aren't, I'd rather take the safe route.

If you've done nothing wrong and neither have your staff, your forum will not be deleted. Take a read through the ToS and check up.

I know what the TOS says, as I've used it quite a few times to report other boards, and make sure that I stay inside it.
The problem is that I don't KNOW what the specifics are of what this girl is alleging. I'm hoping that this is some scare tactic she's using, but I can't take the chance. If there is something wrong, and she keeps withholding the information about it so I can't fix it, and then reports me, there is a possibility that my board will be deleted for not taking care of the violation. I don't want to take that chance.

The best thing you can do is check the entire board for any TOS violation and, if you find any, delete or correct the violation. She could be bluffing and trying to scare you (I think that that is the case), but as you said, better safe than sorry. One small question though. Is the member you're talking about an active member and doesn't cause any problems (except this one), or is she an inactive member, or a trouble maker?

If she won't tell you anything, then there isn't much you can do. However, if by any chance your board does get deleted, and i doubt it will, just contact me, and we'll get things sorted.
