Forum URL: poker101a.proboards42.comI was wondering if there is a way to find out how many postings a person has on the Forum?? I'm trying to have forum members be allowed to view a certain section of the forum only after they have made a certain number of postings on the Forum. Is this possible? Reward those that participate in the Forum. Thanks for any help in advance.

Thanks for the reply, but exactly what are you saying. It appears you are telling me that I must look into the profile of each member to find out if they meet my qualification for a certain number of postings and then transfer them to a special member group. I was hoping this could be automated somehow, that when a person hits a certain number of postings, that they would be able to view other threads. Please walk me through step by step what you are referring to? Thanks again P.S. I did just find after looking under Search Members, there is a way to find members who did a certain number of postings. Now what to do with them? P.S.S. Now a list comes up, but the only thing I can do with the list is DELETE, I can't place them in any special group or category, I'll keep looking however.

You'll have to tell me how you get that solid line around the previous post. Ok, please explain exactly the procedure on getting everybody into a special group. When the list comes up, there's a box to check, but only to delete the members, not to MOVE them to another section or group. So it appears I would have to this one by one manually? Yuck!!!! Thanks again

Thanks again to get black line as you call it hit the quote button--> .. To to create a new membergroup, do as follows (The steps to edit an existing group are identicle, except you 1st select the name of an existing group). Goto Admin, then click create new membergroup The 1st page lets you enter standard information about the group, its name, stars, colors and whether it is staff. The other option is the limited powers option. This option determines if the power is global, or local. If you select that the powers are NOT limited, then an action such as "lock" can be carried out in any area of the forum. If the powers are limited, those powers (again, such as lock) can only be done on boards where that member is made a moderator. Once you have selected these settings, proceed to the next page On this page you can pick the permissions you wish this group to have. Once you have picked these options, finalise the settings by pressing the create group button, Remeber not to give people more powers than they need. Once you have created the group, you can apply it to any members you wish by editing their profile

Also a helpful tip on finding members with more that X posts.
You can go to the admin area and use the search function. At the button, you see the option of searching members by post. In the drop down box, you select these two marks >= and then put the number of posts (i.e.100) in the input area and hit search. That will give you a members list with all member that have 100 or more posts. This is very helpful when having a lot of members.
