How do you prevent the forum width from appearing the default size briefly before jumping to the width it was changed to with the adjust forum width code?
Does it have anything to do with the number of codes in the headers and footers, because I've noticed in my test board when I don't have many codes the forum width doesn't jump as badly?

There is no way. The default is going to naturally load first, then the added code Kapt~`'-

Its possible, but its not exactly clean....
You could have a code at the very top of yur headers which hides all following content
Then a code at the end which unhides it after all modifications are done.
It would obviously result in nothing being visible until all loading has occoured, which may take a little time
If thats ok just say so here and ill throw something together
