I was going to hold a haiku contest on my forum, so I went to the admin section and clicked on "email all members"...
...well, it seemed to work, but to my knowledge no one received the e-mails, and it has been almost two days now.
I thought that I might just not be getting the emails because I was the admin and obviously already knew what message I'd sent, so I asked a friend who is a member to let me check their e-mail account...
...well, the email wasn't there, but apparently they had not used that email address in so long that it gave a "your e-mail has been re-activated" message on logging in, so I figured it may not have been accepting mail when I sent the message...
I have a dummy account I use to test features and make sure that boards which are restricted to certain user groups work properly, so I changed the email on that one with the intention of sending a mass e-mail again and testing the results...
...what I forgot was that when you change the e-mail, you must re-activate your account.
Well, I checked the email, and no re-activation message has been received.
Since this is the first time I have used the "email all members" feature, I have no idea how long this has been happening--it is possible that this explains why all the new members who've signed up never posted even once--they never got their activation e-mails.
As it stands, the contest which I intended to start at midnight today is a complete no-show due to no one getting the e-mail with the password for that board in it, my test account is unusable, and any new members will be unable to activate their accounts--so I would really appreciate any help you could offer in fixing this.
