I just have a question about large images getting a scrollbar instead of breaking the forum. What if we have in place now the image resize. I would rather keep using the image resize then get a scrollbar that is gonna break the image

The eternal debate. It seems like whichever way we do this we're just going to have a million requests the other way. No one is happy with whichever way we do it. Though everyone agrees that we don't want it to be like v4 and have large images breaking the forum width. We will have another meeting about this on Monday . At this point I'm really tired of this request which comes up about twice a month. So I'm going to propose we just set an option in the admin panel and let the admin of the forum decide how over-sized images work. Want a scroll bar, you get a scroll bar (downside is you cant see the whole image at once). Want the image re-sized, you get the image re-sized (downside is the image quality is severely degraded by the browser). [rant] I personally come from the scroll bar side of the war, if you post a giant image you obviously care about the detail of it otherwise you wouldn't post a giant image. If you wanted it smaller you would have re-sized it before uploading/linking it. If you come from the re-size side of the war then why would you post large images to begin with? I just don't get it. If you don't expect people to see a big image then don't post a big image. Maybe I'm just crazy. [/rant]

Its not the admin or staff only , We cant control adverts and such so yea. I was just curious. I love something like the resize code we have now as it seems to work well.

That for me, would be ideal. So if you have that as one of those 2 options for the admins to choose from, that'd be fantastic.

Attachments do open a new tab and they have a thumbnail. We're talking about images with the img tag in this thread.

Ryan stinky is talking about the images I think. There is a current code where u click it to see the full image also it tells u how much it was reduced. Im using on both my forums right now.

Okay so if we were to implement the choice between scroll bars and re-sized images would you guys prefer the the re-sized images work like attachment thumbnails then?
1) The image is re-sized to fit, and is a link that opens a new tab at the image's source, displaying the full size image. OR 2) Would you prefer that it just be re-sized and isn't a link to avoid misclicks.

As previously mentioned, I personally, would prefer to be able to click on the image that has been re-sized and it open in a new tab.
