I have been an "additional administrator" on a ProBoard and the board owner decided they did not want to maintain the board any longer and decided to hand it over to one of our members. The person who is taking over the board plans on cannibalizing it and porting the info they want over to a new and different forum and ditching the ProBoard as it now is.
The transfer of ownership has already occured, but the board not yet destroyed. I would like to keep the old ProBoard alive and not changed. Is there any way to back up the old board with all it's posts and everything and put it in a new ProBoard without being the board owner?
Thanx for any help. Pollygonecrazy

Just ask the current owner not to delete the message board, that’s pretty much the only way. Or at least I believe so.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Guess I'm just out of luck as I am not on good terms with the member who took over in as far as being able to plead my case with them about not deleting the board.
As for the cut and paste.......well, just too daunting a task.
Thanks anyway, Pollygonecrazy

The best bet is to beat him at his own game, and create a new board, and transfer as many members as possible over to your new board. That way you would have absolute power.

Okay, I'm about ready to do this. What do I need to set up a Proboard? No great details, just basically what do I need to have? Do I have to have a domain to have a Proboard? Much Thanx pollygonecrazy

Nope just sign up and they will supply you with the address consisting of your board name and server they applied you to.
ie: yourforum.proboards(Server Number).com

Okay, great. Thanks pelphrey and Lord Helmet. Don't know where I got the impression you had to have your own domain. Appreciate your quick responses. PollyGoneCrazy
