Forum URL: msnightingale.proboards.comHi What browser are you using? and, is anyone else having the same problems on the forum? An admin will get back to you, perhaps with further questions in order to get a resolution.

OK. The admin response may be on Monday, when the office opens. Opening times are:
9-5 (Mon-Fri) Pacific standard time.
Meantime, post any further info you think might be of help, for eg, if anyone else is experiencing the the same issue, on the forum and, if it's intermittent.

I logged off as admin, and logged in with a temporary ID.
I could post all I wanted to from this same computer, using another ID.
But then when I logged off and logged back in as "admin," I could no longer post and would just get the angry bear page. ===================
THAT WAS NOT THE PROBLEM. Now it's also blocking most posts I try to make with the alternate ID.

Hi,
If you used the "Quick Reply" box, do you get errors when attempting to reply to threads with that? Also, if you were to use a different web browser such as Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome, do you experience the post error with either of those?
Can we get the exact version number of Internet Explorer you're using please? (this can be found by clicking the Gear icon in the top-right hand corner of the browser window, then click "About Internet Explorer". The complete version number should be the first thing listed in the pop-up box that comes up)
Also, can you let me know your geographical location? (city / state if in the USA, if outside the USA, just the country you reside in is fine)
And what company do you use for your internet service provider?

Quick reply works, as do PMs... Regular reply works only rarely now, and this has been since I upgraded to IE9 with Vista.
Version 9.0.8112.16421IC Update Version 9.0.5 (KB2647516)
Oklahoma Panhandle
PTCI Communication & Broadband Solutions
My husband has no problem posting from his computer, which is IE9 with Windows 7.
I don't have an alternate browser.
Thanks.

Thanks for checking back on it. In case of your husband, is he using the same internet connection as yourself and able to make posts fine? If you could, would you be able to use his computer to try and make posts on the forum just to be 100% sure that you do not experience the issue with his machine? From what I know of the issue from others that have reported it, the error will happen sometimes but not others, so it's possible that it may have been worked during a good time when testing with his computer before. So we would like to be certain that it's not an issue with his computer if he's using the same internet connection as you are

His works fine. No problems at all.
We share the same connection, and mine is wireless.
His IE9 version is a little different:
Version 9.0.8112.16421 Update Version 9.0.6 (KB2675157)

Interesting thing you noted about being on wireless; Out of curiosity, is your husband using wireless as well? Or is he plugged directly into your home router? If he's plugged in directly, can you try plugging your computer directly into the router and see if that makes a difference rather than using wireless?

I forgot... The computer he has now is wireless, too, and he doesn't have a cable hooked up for me to test with.
He's on a special project and will be late, but he said he would test that tonight.

That's okay, if you're both using wireless then there would be no reason to test. Just thought in case he was connected directly and only you were on wireless, that may have been something to look into. But thanks for checking back on it

What I did find out, though....
His IE9 came installed on his Acer computer.
My IE9 was a recent download, and the version numbers are a little bit different.

I believe the version numbers are meant to be different since you noted that you were running Windows Vista and he is using Windows 7. But this issue has been reported by others running Windows 7 as well, so that's partially what's making things a bit tricky.

Yes, but his was factory installed. Is that the difference?
Is there something wrong with the latest version of IE9 being downloaded from the Internet? And how do we get a different version?
