This is a screenshot of my effort...a couple of things...

What is the best size in pixels for the banner picture to be the full width of the forum page (if that makes sense)
Also,
if I didn't want to make it full size, could I use that space at the
side of it for something extra...say a photo of the week sort of thing
of one of the members...or a message perhaps and if so, how would I do
that?

Just thought that I'd show off my bit of playing around with the new v5 boards.

It's not the best example of design out there, but it's not too shabby.  :3  Beware IE users...some of it's not so pretty; it's completely functional, just not polished.  I'm still working on getting the background color transparencies and Google Web Fonts to work... 

By the way, I love what everyone else has done with their boards.

Thank you, VS Admin and Shorty!  I'm glad you like it.  ^_^  Just shows what you can do with v5.

Been working on a Christmas theme all morning. Not finished yet but here is what I have so far.

rchelitalk great start. My suggestion would be to work on the text/backgrounds more because some of it is hard to read. Maybe lighten/darken the background images in different areas so the text contrasts better.

Thanks VS Admin, yeah I agree. Still in the process of finishing it up for next year as v5 want be out in time this year.
