Very clever! I'd definitely recommend changing the current item in the menu, though. The purple is much too dark and the overline doesn't work as it is. Thanks. =] It's one of many things I never got round actually finishing. Need to get on the desktop so I have Photoshop - on my laptop I don't have (and can't natively run) it, so I'm kinda stuck. Also wanting to add the Posts/Threads/Last Post text to the cat bars (which I'd like to make a little smaller, too), and figure out how to individually colour the Logout and Login|Register text. Then just loads of little colour updates. Oh, and a banner. And converting the image background to a css one. And probably some other stuff. =P ed; proper gradients, too. Maybe a base image, now that the title bars are lead header images. Sounds great. Go for it! It's amazing how all those changes seem so easy now. You don't need any JavaScript at all for that.

It's incredible - in two evenings worth of pretending I know what I'm doing I've already managed to achieve more on my own than I could have with a week in 4.5 - this upgrade has changed the game for PB designers. =]

Haha, I know. I've not really touched anything PB or website related in about 3 years, so I'm a little rusty to say the least. However, even I'm not finding the learning curve too much of a problem. What's holding my back now is lack of proper CSS knowledge and a general inability to work with anything more complicated than very basic HTML, and even with that taken into account I'm impressing myself. =P

Imagine what a good designer, and a good coder could do together.

I decided to change mine a little and went with a drop down navigation that offers "resources" and shrunk the banner. The only real problem I face is that the nav tree keeps overlapping the dropdown and as you can see some of the arrows are really messed up and the text isn't aligned, but I'll fix it! Edit: The only thing that keeps overlapping the dropdown now is the arrows from the Nav Tree. I did away with the arrows as they were ugly anyway (the dropdown arrows)

Have completely re-designed my site.. chuffed to bits with it.... The new custom page designer is superb, no? About a million times easier than using the old portal codes, and the inbuilt widgets are a dream for non-coding people like me, who had to try and pull other codes apart to achieve the same results. =]

This will save us money as well as being much better and easier. And the money we save will go toward making it ad free and thus even better looking.... Win win me thinks

This will save us money as well as being much better and easier. And the money we save will go toward making it ad free and thus even better looking.... Win win me thinks Definitely - the forum I'm considering starting up again used to have a (rather spiffy, I must admit) website which was linked to a non-PB forum I moved away from PB for. The reason I moved away was mainly so that I could integrate it with the site. The v5 set up means that I can essentially rebuild about 99% of the old website in-forum, and I'm sure the tiny bit I can't do (commenting on articles with your forum profile, and a site-based user content gallery) will be possible either via updates to the software or 3rd party plugins. Only just realising myself quite how powerful v5 could be, and it's still in relatively early stages for users. =] ed; actually, thinking about it, the article comments might be possible. Without looking, I seem to remember there's a widget for displaying posts on a page. Whether that already works for threads (or could be expanded for threads) I don't know, but combined with a hidden board that would actually be a fairly easy workaround, I think. See, powerful! =P

I believe this thread was started so people can show off their layouts and occasional comments. Maybe a general layout discussion thread would be good
