[request] auto thread lock/limit user

wondering if a plugin can be made for this nifty idea.

what I'm looking for in it:
can work in any board
has a restriction number you can set it at
can be used in member groups
and finally limits how many threads a user can make in a day/hour


thats sort of a anti-spam thread technique I thought of there
 
is it possible?

Todge: I have a round about way of finding the user group. But I don't quite have it working yet. 

The way it works (Or is supposed to work) is the user enters in all of there user groups (Cap specific) into an auto form. Then the code goes and checks there profile to see which user group they belong to and then gives them some session storage with their user group name. 

The downsides to this is, they have to view there profile on there own, and in order for the code to keep current with the user group I had to use session storage (other wise if there user group was changed the code would never know until they next viewed there profile) 

Anyways, it's not really working properly yet. (the code in of itself works, I just haven't got the auto form to integrate) 

If you want to look at (and maybe get it to work) you could definitely use it for this

If you want to look at (and maybe get it to work) you could definitely use it for this

You can 'trick' the user into looking at their profile and grab the user group then, the problem with that is you'd need to have at least 2 mouse clicks for no apparent reason. If you used localStorage it could save the group indefinitely, but, as you say, if the member switches groups the code will never know. And if you use sessionStorage, those two pointless mouse clicks will be enforced on the user everytime they visit the forum.

I'm hoping that we get a better way of grabbing the user group without the need for all that.
