is there a simple way to add a color change to the Private Message link or an icon to the PM notification along with alert there is # unread?

Sorry I wasn't more clear. Yes it's possible through template modification (or even a plugin, though not recommended).

Head over to the template mod board and make a request. Someone should be able to assist you there with this.

This is the Feature Requests board for suggesting new features to be included in the v5 software itself.

In v4 there are no notifications, so not sure where to even begin with this. I wouldn't think it possible unless someone has created some sort of notification code.

What was it you said in the other thread that got you sent here? Because this isn't a feature idea, nor a request for a feature?

If you want to edit how notifications display (in v5) then you need to edit your template. At the very least a code for changing the color of the link when active. None of which this board is for.

If you want to do this in v4 then you're in the wrong category. Head over to the code request board and see if they can help you.
