I have my colorsmeared display name bolded on my Forum using CSS.

Thanks. I'm pretty sure I tried adding that before to the bottom of my style sheet and it didn't work, but to be sure I tried it again now with no result. My knowledge of CSS is pretty limited, but after I tried that I just did a little Google searching and with a bit of trial and error got this bit of CSS to work:


.user-link.group-1 { font-weight: bold; }
That made the Admin group bold. I then added the same code subbing first a 2 & then a 3 for the 1 and got the Global Moderators and Moderators bolded respectively. Works with your plugin, on the forum and in Todge's Sidebar. YAY!

you can consolidate into 1 line by doing

.group-1, .group-2, .group-3 {font-weight: bold}

Hi! We've been having some trouble with the in-post smear code. Whenever we insert the code, it doesn't translate into a smear, it just posts as the code.
So when we put:
[smear:FF0000]words to smear here[/smear:1979e6]
it posts as-is and the words don't smear. Is this still an issue with the button or is there something we need to add to the code?

I have the latest version and I've tried moving the plugin in case it conflicts with other plugins, but that doesn't seem to help. I'm not sure if there's a conflict with my layout or the plugin itself.. ^^"

In the settings, is there a box that needs to be chacked to allow smear to work in posts?

It depeands on if you want them all the same or each one different.  if you want them all the same its easy.  in the template you would put

<span class="smear" startcolor="#FF0000" endcolor="#00FF00" smearmode="1">This is some text to smear</span>


where you want the category titles to appear

My colour smear plug-does not seem to be working properly. I tried to apply it to 'Important Documents' under the Category 'Catholic Resistance' and it did not work. However, I removed it from another board and it DID work?

Can you help please?

according to your source colorsmear isnt a loaded plugin. so if you are sure its activated, you might want to first make sure you have it set to run on the right themes and for all viewers

Is there a facility to make the colour-smear on boards bold. I can do it in posts OK because BBCode is available, but not on boards?

I thought you could just use BBCode in the board title to make it go bold?


also you will want to check your plugin settings. you have several autoform entries where you setup a board title to be a color, but then didnt choose any actual boards for that entry. so I think the code is getting mad that you even have the rest of it filled out.

I made my forum about a month ago. And one of the first few plug-ins I installed was this one. But, in the past few days (it's probably almost more like a week now), it has been causing some errors with my shoutbox. It has been causing an immense amount of lag and has caused the forum to freeze once a message has been posted. I wasn't sure what was the problem, so I posted a support thread (http://support.proboards.com/thread/534750/laggy) and CheatAreZee came and gave me some assistance. We disabled all the plug-ins, then one by one enabled them and tested to see what one was causing the lag and the result.. Colorsmear. I love this plug-in, it's brilliant, but.. I'm not sure why it's happened all so suddenly in the past few days? Do you know? Have you got any ideas? It's currently disabled on my forum so that members can use the shoutbox and the forum with ease.

EDIT:
I just installed the later version you released and it appears to be working okay - a little laggy when setting the colours, but not laggy in the actual shoutbox.
