On my forum, the only person who can still have editing and deleting powers with this plug-in enabled seems to be the Main Admin/Forum Owner. My other Admin account loses this power as does my Global Moderator. Is it possible for all staff to keep these powers?
I've had to disable it at the moment until I see if this can be resolved

Mods and admins are exempt, just click the go to the drop-down (top right of post) and select 'Moderate'. Chris, you can select what categories/boards you want any plug-in to effect in the admin panel. Hi! I love the idea behind this plugin (had some people who'd throw fits & delete all their posts before deleting their account). However, I am the sole admin on my board & it prevents me from editing posts; even my own, unless I disable to the plugin to do so. Using the dropdown does give me the option to delete, but not to edit. Thanks in advance for any help, my forum is in my signature

I'm not quite understanding this. I just want to apply this plug-in to one individual board and that is all. How do I do this?
Also, it wouldn't be a bad idea to enter a description in the cell that displays how long ago a post was made that explains that the post will not be editable after the set time. Maybe a good place to have it would be directly under the time the post was made, something like
about an hour ago This post will no longer be editable in 10 minutes.
and then after the 10 minutes is up, the message disappear with the edit button. But instead of the edit button simply disappearing like it does now, instead it is replaced with a small message:
Editing time has expired
you know, maybe the wording could be a little better, but without these small additions, it kind of leaves the users in the dark as to how long they have until their editing-time expires or where in the heck the editing button even went .. lol. An admin would have to add this in a faq or send a mass email to get this across to members which wouldn't help many matters because new members wouldn't get the memo and a lot of members wouldn't think to find this answer in the faqs. I think it would be an all around better idea to just add these additions to the plug in (at least for opt)

I think there is a fault with this plugin as o nce i had downloaded and added the plugin to my forum. I tested as an Admin & as a member.I have a second account on my forum as just a plain old ordinary member. ( this is so i can test how thing work, as an admin i don't see how things work as a normal member) If i log in to this second account and either go to any posts i have made as this member or click on the "PARTICIPATED " button, i can't edit the post, but if i go to my profile as this member and click on "View this member's recent posts." i can then edit and remove as much of any said post i want that i have made.
So it doesn't seem to do do the job really, i PM ,Todge but sadly got no reply.

As the code only works on page load, adding a message stating how long you may edit the message for would only be accurate then. Sit on the same page for 5 minutes, the timestamp for the message will be updated, but the modifying message would not, so that may cause more issues than it solves, as a member may think 'I still have 5 minutes to edit this, I'll just go look at that other thread', go, and come back straight away only to find his time is up.

Hi Todge, Okay I understand and didn't consider the facts that you have stated, but I am still in need of an answer for my original question if you have the time.
I just want to apply this plug-in to one individual board and that is all. How do I do this?
Thanks

Download and import the new version (it's the same version number), and you should now have the option in the plugin settings to select which board(s) you'd like it to effect.

This plugin will disable the editing ability of posters after a set time. The minimum time allowed is 5 minutes, so that any member does have the chance to change or remove their posts straight after posting. Plug-In v1.0.2Hi, I have a problem with this plugin. That is, that I an Admin, cannot modify/edit a post of my own after the time limit expires. I have followed all of the directions on this thread, but the edit feature for my posts disappears after the time limit. I can delete them, but not edit. All of the other features for this plugin works. I'm using version 1.0.2. Is there a fix for this?

Todge,
The code seems to be working correctly for me - but there is a problem.
I found that if I refresh a page (after the time limit has passed), the edit button reappears for about two seconds - and then disappears again. If the user clicks the edit button during those two seconds, the user can edit the post at will.
This little trick gives the user unlimited editing capability to old posts, including the power to go in and edit all of the content out of their old posts.
Is there any way to keep the edit button from appearing during those two seconds after refreshing the page?
Thanks.
