Uh oh. Now, this plug-in has completely stopped working for me. The edit function stays on perpetually now on new posts on the v5 board, regardless of the existence of the plug-in.
However, for old posts from the old board, the edit function stays off (as it should).
By the way, I had this function in my old board. Is it possible, some of this carried over into v5?

The plugin is working on one board but not the other?
Are these two different forums? Or different boards on the same forum? And have you made any template modifications?

This is the same forum. It worked when first installed, then the next day, it was no longer working. I only have one forum, with several sub-boards. I have made it global on all boards. I will send you the link by private mail. This is a v5 test board.
I also tried disabling it, and then re-enabling it.
The only changes I have made are within the parameters of the plug in - I have set the edit time to 5 minutes. (Originally, I had it set to 30 minutes).
Note: I have this on my regular board v4, in the global header (?) and it has been working great for a long time.

I installed the plugin just now, so it's the most recent version. Set the time for 5 minutes. (side note: the instructions say "Allowed time (in minutes)", but the question bubble says "in seconds"?). Made a post under my test account, which has no mod powers at all. After the 5 minutes, I still can see the edit button. So, I went back and converted the 5 minutes to 300 seconds. I still see the edit button. What am I doing wrong?

It appears something has changed. I'll take a look and see if I can't get it working again.

Or, it's also possible that I have another plugin that's conflicting, I suppose.

No, the plugin is no longer working on my test forum either, so I'd say something has changed with the forum layout.
Hopefully it's a simple fix... Fingers crossed.

Newbie to plug-ins here. I need this one but I don't understand how it gets installed on my forum. The other plug-ins I am using came from the Proboards list. This one does not appear on the list. So how is it installed?

It seems I forgot to submit this to the library.. But..
You can download the plugin from the first post of this thread, then in your forum, in the admin panel, click 'Manage', and you can import the plugin from there, just follow the instructions.

Hi Todge,
First wanted to say, love this feature. But, is there a way to bypass the 5 minute minimum? I want to make it so that, in certain specified boards, no edit/delete is possible once the "Create Post" button is hit.
Pre-ver5, I used your code in Headers (or Footers? can't remember) for specific boards that I wanted no ability to edit/delete once posted by setting a miniscule timer (like 1 second or something like that). This worked great for RPG-type, play-by-post games where you wanted authentic (virtual) die-rolling results without any chance/window for a player to delete a post if they happened to not roll well.
Not that I don't trust my players, but having the 5 minute window really leaves things open; even a 1 minute timer leaves the same window -- is there a way to override this? (would like to have the timer down to seconds if possible)
You mentioned something on page 1 of this thread, and I've tried that "Header" code but it doesn't seem to work for me. Anyway, thx in advance for any help

The minimum time in the coding is a requirement. It's against the TOS to not give your members a chance to either delete or edit a post, so the 5 minute minimum is needed to both protect you/your forum from a possible TOS violation, and is a requirement for this code to even exist.
Sorry.
