Shorty is currently on a hiatus, so support for his plugin wont be very forthcoming from him until he returns. Getting it to work on a normal forum can possibly be done, but he wont be making any changes to it any time soon.

I use the drop down under my Profile for Notifications. The number of notifications still pops up over my Profile button.

If what you want is individual notifications for each drop down, you might want to ask someone who does custom pop ups.

Yes I am looking for individual pop-up on each drop down. I don't use drop downs they're used as NAV directly to boards instead of have boards on the home page.

I want them to pop up everytime a new thread/post is made in those boards so that everyone is aware when something new happens in those boards.

Does anyone know if this can be done? It would dramatically improve my site.

Is there a way to make a dropdown link the homepage?
The placement doesn't make my dropdown link the first button in the navigation bar, how can I do this?

I am wondering if it is possible to get the Main Link URL to go to the categories on the home page. The link would be something like 'Forum-link-here'/#category-4.

I have tried adding the actual URLs in the plugin in this manner, but it doesn't appear to be working. If I copy/paste the URLs that I have entered in the browser address bar, the links do work, so I don't understand why they don't with the plugin. Anyone have any ideas for this?

Is it possible to have sub drop down menu on a sub menu ?

Managed to set up the sub drop downs on the main drop down but not a sub of a sub as it were !!!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated

This is a very nice plugin but for some reason it is not showing my custom link to guests. I have changed the settings to allow "Everybody" to view it but I can only view it when I am logged in to the board. Any suggestions Shorty ?

This will allow for you to add drop down menu's to your navigation menu.

You can add sub-sub links(that's as deep as it goes).
If you have a button with the same name then instead of adding a new button, it will add to the existing(this way if you were to user it for 'Profile' or 'Messages' you could still get the notifications bubble).

Can I request an update if possible please?

Currently all drop downs drop to the right side of the page.

I'm finding this problematic for any button that appears to the far right of a nav bar, especially as the nav bar line breaks to cater for smaller resolutions..

Can you possibly introduce an 'intelligent' feature that detects which side of the page it is on, and reverts to dropping left where necessary, or is that impossible?

So, if button is far right, drop left, and if far left, drop right.

Is that possible bud?

The problem I foresee though is that because we don't know where a button will drop on a given break point, it's hard to pre-plan a left or right drop, hence why I ask if it's possible to do it intelligently.

Shorty, also I've noticed that the sub links aren't offering enough width to fit the words into, if that helps.

Hi, Stinky!

Sorry to bring up a 2yr old post, and sorry to bother you with my problem (Shorty hasn't been around in awhile to answer questions).  I'm new to this but trying to learn!  I like what you did with your "Profile" drop down, and tried to duplicate it.  I have several other drop down menus that work perfectly, but "Profile" depends on the [#userid] and doesn't work properly.  Everything looks good and all of the links seem to try to work.  The addresses all look right, except for the user ID in the browser's address bar after it tries to load the page. Example:

"http://hallerairpark.proboards.com/user/[#userid]/activity" shows in the browser's address bar (Firefox).

It's not importing the user ID and displays [#userid] where the user number should appear.  Of course, that generates an "OOPS!" message that "This account was not found", even when I sign in with my "alter ego" member name.   I'm using the latest version of Dropdown Menu.  Did I miss a change in convention somewhere? Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
