That's not for us to decide. So, let me understand. The main admin of the forum illegally sells the forum, its content, and the member's information to someone else on a completely different site, and you're going to allow this worthless excuse of an owner to stay as the 'admin'? That's pretty stupid, tbh. If this "owner" does transfer to someone else, who's to say this crap won't go down again? I understand you have a policy to follow, but this isn't an ordinary situation. You have us, the members of the forum who love it and want it to continue being alive. Then you have the owner, who just sold it all without even a second thought. Not to mention the owner of the second site who basically said everything ProBoards decided on said situation was wrong. Honestly, it feels to me like you're going to screw us all over and let some dick be the owner of the forum. how much do you wanna bet within a few weeks or even a month one of us will be posting about the same thing happening? Patrick, you need to learn when to bend your policy. We are not asking to ban the admin from every forum, we're simply asking for justice here. Each and every one of us want to post on the forum and just be a community. That's all.

I guess I have a stupid question that maybe you can clear up for me. When I run a WHO IS on the computer for www.scootdawg.com it comes back with an owner in Bellevue, WA 98007. When I run a WHOIS for www.scootdawg.net it comes back as Registrant: Mike Wood. However, when I do a WHO IS on www.scootdawg.proboards.com it doesn't come back with anything. But a different WHO IS comes back as Proboards with you PAtrick as the contact. I guess my dumb question is, who owns www.scootdawg.proboards.com. Thanks Jim

WHOIS simply shows who owns a domain name. ProBoards.com (and therefore the subdomains of that domain) will show as ProBoards (and by extension, Patrick), since ProBoards pays for that domain.

As RedBassett mentioned, doing a whois searches for the domain not the sub domain. So when you tried to whois "something.proboards.com" you actually did a whois for "proboards.com"
It has been explained clearly to Mr. Wood what our policies are. We expect that he will abide fully by the ProBoards Terms of Service. If a similar situation occurs again, our lawyers will handle it.

I was just curious of how who is works more than anything.

Seems there is an issue about what is going on with ScootDawg.Proboards.
Here is the latest from Mr Wood on Scootdawg.net:
"Alright guys, we're officially back to this forum, and for good this time. It will remain up & running permanently now.
Seems as though certain other parties didn't uphold their end of the deal (we did), so here we are. I'm really sorry about all the confusion, I feel terrible about it. Hopefully we can all move forward without any BS now.
Please enjoy the forum, and I'd truly appreciate anything and all you guys can do to help us grow. And please spread the word and let everyone know.
I'll have more details in the coming days, but either way.. we're here to stay and we're not going anywhere!
Thanks guys, enjoy! "
All the posts that were moved from the PB site have been removed from the .net site.
My question is, since "Seems as though certain other parties didn't uphold their end of the deal (we did), so here we are." I assume that the change in ADMIN for Scootdawg PB is not going to happen. What is going to happen to Scootdawg PB? We don't have an ADMIN and the mods ( actually only seems one is actively particpating)are limited to what they can do. I for one would hate to see this board just go bye bye after all this time. Can we have a temp ADMIN until something can be done? I know there are those that would step up and take over or do we just continue to operate without one.
Thanks for all your help.
You may contact me privatly if you wish.

I was expecting the forum primary admin to transfer the forum to Mike. It appears to me that Mike has come to the conclusion that Lee is not going to do anything more.
Would it be possible for Patrick or one of the other staff members here to make(medman1952 on ScootDawg) me a secondary admin on Scootdawg so that I can recruit moderators to help keep the forum going.

At the risk of sounding paranoid.
Mike has stated on his new scootdawg.net forum that the proboards scootdawg forum will be closing. The only way I know of that happening is for the primary admin to close the forum. Since Mike paid Lee for the forum and was able to copy the content, even though he has removed the content from his forum now, I think he can expect it to be closed by Lee. He might not even need to have Lee to close the forum though. He used the admin account to strip the data from the forum. I believe he has access to the account. With access to the owners account he can just log in after the account is no longer disabled and close it down.
Would you also discuss this in your meeting please.

The admin account is controlled by ProBoards. It has been this way for a long time now. No one else has access to it.

After reviewing our options, we have decided to leave the forum in an "as is" state. Meaning that those that have moderator powers still have them. The "admin" account will be left disabled due to Terms of Service violations. The moderating team is welcome to continue moderating this site, and if the members of this forum want "full control" they can create a new forum at www.proboards.com and direct the members to join the new forum.
