I have a role-play based forum where members have to send in an application to role-play as a character. My concern is...I've been reading what everyone has to say about staff members. They oppose interviews. Interviews aren't a bad thing. But they say that you shouldn't just let everyone be on the staff team, right? My only concern for my board is just letting anyone role-play a character. I had an experience where I gave someone a character because they wrote really well. The problem was, they were disrespectful. I guess in this case, it was bad judgement on my part. I was thinking of having a post count for a character to see how members interact with each other. What I'm afraid of the post count is, I might lose members, and they won't be interested.
To send in an application I put its prefered if you're a guest because when it comes to role-play boards, some people join only to make one post and that's for the application. If they don't get the character, then they don't bother to come back. The problem with members being a guest is, you don't know how they will interact with other members. But I put, if you're a member, its prefered they have at least 10 posts. I'm not so sure if that's enough to really see how a person acts because they could be faking it. I don't want to seem desperate about this situation either.
What do you think I should do? I wasn't sure where to put this. I apologize if this is the wrong place.
