Hey
I love the "like" feature, but do you have a "dislike" plugin that will sit along side it?
Thanks

And me. Its the one thing my members complain about the most.. I appreciate the no negative environment but give us a choice!

I'd personally like this as well. It's nice to have Shorty's Karma system to show overall approval of a person, but a Dislike button would be a great way to say "I don't like this post, specifically."

Our forum really misses the dislike buttons. We use them jokingly or to express support in disliking a concept, not to attack or point fingers. I understand the inclination to steer away from a negative environment, but it really depends on how a forum uses them. Please give us the option.

I started development on a plugin for this way back when likes were a number without names, but I suspended development when Peter's Rate Threads came out. Not sure that this plugin would look as good as the built in likes, now that names are listed beside the like number, but I might be willing to give it another go if people still want this.

I suppose I can give this a try. Like RedBassett said, it won't be as nice as the built in likes system since the names are listed. I could do listed names, but it would severely limit how many people could like it as a key can only hold 4000 characters. That would limit the number of people able to like it to 150 more or less(which for most forums is okay, but some may need more). What I could do is have it only show the first 2 people's user names that have liked it and then a number, like how it on here. Except the number wouldn't be clickable.

I'm going to admit right now that I have no idea how complicated it is to write a plug-in or if writing two versions is feasible, but our relatively-small forum would love to see names associated with dislikes. If that's an option, we would pledge our undying like of you...

It allows for the first two names to be shown (in addition to the total dislike count), but due to restrictions on how plugins access data, it cannot show names as well or all of the names the way the native like function does.

Ah, thanks for letting me know. It's still better than nothing so we'll definitely take it. And hopefully ProBoards will reconsider adding the button to their site as an optional function.
