TOS rule 3 parra C. User's message board and Web site must be in English.
Please provide an explanation for the inclusion of this rule. Almost all members on this board have an international connection. It would be of major benefit to be able to post in languages other than english.
Would a post in another language followed by a tranlation in english be suitable?

No. A word here and there in a foreign language is fine, but a full paragraph, no.

I find this a poor answer to a genuine question. In fact it is no answer at all.
Dissapointing to say the least.
Your answer reinforces my opinion of many seppos as brash loud and unintelligent.

The inclusion of that rule is that how would Proboards manage the content if the forum was in a foreign language? If you were posting in say... French, and if Proboards staff didn't know French, then how would they be able to control what content is on their servers? There could be illegal activities transpiring and they wouldn't know.
If proboards hired an employee for French content, then they'd have to hire a person who knows Cantonese, Russian, Italian, and all the rest of the languages because everyone would want to post on their forum with their native tongue.
And I apologise that my answer earlier was not adequate for you, I should have elaborated more. My fault.

Your answer reinforces my opinion of many seppos as brash loud and unintelligent. An important point to note is that Tommy is only a "seppo" is you're using that term as a derogatory reference to Americans. He definitely isn't a septic tank. I will assume you weren't being racist and actually meant a support operator, however he helps out here on a volunteer basis and is not employed by Proboards. To call him "brash loud and unintelligent" is either the worst mispelling of "Thank you for your answer, but I'm still not clear on this point" that I've ever seen, or a rude response that was unjustified after Tommy took the time to reply to your thread. If you'd care to reread what you typed you might notice that the only question you posted was about whether or not a post in another language would be allowed, and therefore for someone skimming through the Support threads (you may have noticed there are several pages of current threads) it would have been easy to miss your earlier demand for an explanation.

Well he just wasted 3 minutes of his time replying to you there, didn't he? Tommy is a Support helper here. Helper. He does not get paid for doing any of this. I thought he gave a very simple, clear answer. As he said, you can have a bit of another language here and there, but not a full paragraph or more. So the answer is once again as he said...no.

Thank you for your timely explanation and i accept your apology, it is often easy to misinterpret posts. what action is likely to be taken should proboards be made aware of posts in a foriegn language? Does probaords activly police foreign language posts? Proboards is notified of forums that are breaking the ToS by users who submits a ToS Violation. Upon receiving a notification, The ToS department will then inspect the forum in question for infractions mentioned in the ToS report. Depending on the severity of the violation, the main admin is then notified via PM from Proboards Staff from the main admin account, making it seem as if the admin PMed her/himself. If Proboards Staff sees that the main admin had participated in any threads that is breaking the ToS, then that would indicate that the admin would know of the situation and has failed to take action, and the forum is deleted. If the whole forum is in a foreign language, then the board is instantly deleted.

Does probaords activly police foreign language posts? That's okay... To extend your knowledge on ProBoards Support, the ones who moderate here have their username's in green. They are actually not paid either. The Global Moderators have their name in orange/ purple and they may get a tip, but no, they are not paid either. The only ones who get money for their work here are the ones with their names in red. Their rank is ProBoards Staff. Everyone else is a volunteer.

Does probaords activly police foreign language posts? And you might consider (but probably won't) apologizing to Tommy for your obnoxious statements. You got the answer you asked for. No - you can't. That's the rule. If you don't care for it (you obviously don't) perhaps you should consider another forum service. "brash, loud, unintelligent". sheesh.... look who's talking. I would guess by your attitude that someone will be actively checking your forum. At least I would hope so.
