Forum URL: everythingfert.proboards36.comI have been contacted by a handful of members of my forum (listed above) telling me that they have received strange IM's through hotmail and AOL. This person contacts them, starts a short converstations and then invites them to another proboards forum. So basically this member, who is a mod on the other forum, came to the forum in which I am an admin to copy IM addresses to message them about this other forum. This is spam - but does it count as a TOS Violation?

That's only thing you can do to get rid of those members.

The members that I have caught have been banned, etc.
However, my feeling is that this "other proboards forum" may be sending others in to do what their banned members can't do anymore. This isn't the first time that this "other proboards forum" has done something similar to our forum.
What I need to know is if this is a TOS Violation.
Also, is there a way to be permanantly banned from any and all proboards forums?

If you can prove that it is the owner of the board that ius spamming that link, then yes, it is considered a TOS violation. To ban them, you will need to achieve their IP. Craig

What if it's not the owner but their moderatorating team? The moderating team isn't held to the same standards as the admin, but if the admin knows his staff are spamming and doesn't do anything I believe it is a violation of the ToS still.

Inform the admin with proof its whats going on, if the admin does nothing to attempt to remidy the situation, submit a TOS report with the same proof

I have had the same issues in the past. What i did was went through the profiles and hid all the emails...
people usually don't add their messengers to the site for this reason of being messaged by just anyone.... I always message members for their messengers if I need to talk to them or help them..... Just a solution to think about in the future.
