Forum URL: laurelinde.proboards74.comI no that adds are part of the deal, unless you want pay to get them removed, but what I want to know is if there is a way that you can only have certain kinds of adds on your site. Because there are some adds that pop up, that I find offensive. And if there is, would it still be free, or would you have to pay for that? Thank you.

there are no pop up adds on proboards. have you recently checked your computer for spyware or viruses?

Ads are controlled by google, and you can't select them. But if you find ads offensive, what sort of ads ?

Oh, sorry, I should've been more specific. They don't "pop up," exactly,
but how right under the title box there are those adds that change from time to time. That's what I mean. Some of the adds that are in that rotatio I don't like.
And the one I don't like is a girl in a bikini. I think it's a list of hotels, and stuff like that. But she's in the picture.

a girl in a bikini is no more than you'd see on a family beach, so is not deemed offensive by proboards.

If you are willing to go so far, you can put/hide text in your global header that's centered/bolded whatever with topics of things that you don't mind ads about. That should fool AdSense into thinking that's what your page is about.

If Goolge is trying to display ads on what they're talking about and it is displaying bikini ads, I should think there is not a problem. It is not up to me though, so it is possible I am wrong.

In most cases, the picture ads dont seem to be based around content, and are just general posted ads
