Personal Smilies (v 1.3.0)

So I went and checked, and the one smiley I had added to Settings was gone.  So I started over and added two smilies.  Set Changes.  Save Account Settings.

But then when I go out of Profile and back in, the Smilies I had added, set, and saved were gone again.

I would say that that's just a coincidence.. The plugin should save the imge URLs even if the images themselves do not exist..

Have you set the Key Permissions in the plugin settings?

Sorry I have not been able to logon for a couple of days.  I will install the new version and see what happens on our forum.

installed the new version and was able to add smiles (?)



went to check (and I made sure to save changes to profile) and this is what I got



back to profile and got this (which is what I started with)


I did the key thing

I have installed 1.2.6 and it has worked.  Our dropdown smilies with the personal smilies are also still working so I think our problem is fixed.  Many thanks.  Let me know if I can do any checking or investigating of our setup that may help anyone else.

Are you clicking on 'Set Changes' or 'Save privacy Settings'?

Saving the privacy settings will not save your your smilies.

I clicked set changes only = no smiles

clicked set changes and saving profile = no smiles

Yes Todge.  I just set Key Permissions to Everyone in both Read and Write. 

No change at all.  Any smiley I Set in Settings doesn't stay there and never appears in the dropdown.

The 1.2.6 version appears to have left out a definition for the function getBy(cell,att,attName) which can be found in several of Todge 's other plugins. If you have another plugin that defines that function then no problem but if not then you'll get an error when trying to use the personal smilies plugin by itself.

Thanks Chris.  Sadly I'm not savvy enough to check that.  But I can tell you that I only have these active plugins installed on my forum:

That message was more for Todge than you m2marsh , the problem first needs to be identified before it can be fixed and I am helping by identifying the problem especially since it is likely Todge would be testing with other plugins in place and may never come across the fact that by itself it crashes.

As I've been updating plugins I have been removing that function, and thought that I had removed the need for it with this one too..
