Log in Problems

I have users that have 3 log in accounts and in one of the accounts.
They have to go reset their password every time they log in.
What is up with that?

We could not find a forum account with that username. Be sure you are entering your forum *username*, not your account's display name.

Hi Dano,
Every account that is linked to a Global account has the same password, this fooled me as well until I worked it out! Change one password the others have changed as well to the same one you have just changed the first one to, this drove me to distraction too.
To be honest I hate this new login system it was much better the way it was even if it was less secure, the Global account is the worst thing thought up. Some of my old members have to rejoin because the system just refuses to let them in, so it's easier to opt for a new account.

Hey again dano,

It's possible to log in with the email address that you initially registered your global account with, instead of the username. Can you give that a shot for me?

EDIT: I also want to confirm that you're logging in with the username "admin", which is what your username is going to be if you're logging onto a forum as the administrator. Can you verify?

here is the problem one account is using a different e-mail account. So when I log in under it
and than go to Admin it won't log me in. I have to go reset it most of the time.
And myself and another use the same log in sometimes. is this going to be a problem also.

EDIT yes I am logging in as admin.

EDIT # 2 using the email has helped I see.  
If I try to use the log in name that is where I have a problem.

How do you go about changing a email address when you can't see it in your profile?

dano, this is done from the little gear icon in the toolbar at the bottom of the page. From here, you'll have the option to change the email associated with your global account.

One of my members says his account is not approved and yet he was in the old Forums approved.

dano, this is a known issue that we're working on fixing now. Can you do me a favor and pop into this thread and mention that you're having this problem as well? Please also make sure to include the username of the member or members affected. This will help our developers in figuring out the initial cause of the bug.

Just to update you, CheatAreZee poked around and managed to get juche (as well as two other members who would have experienced the same error had they tried to log in) approved. They should now be able to access your forum.

The StatChief who had no problem logging in now has a problem. I told him to try his email
and see if that works,
