Forum URL: aglobalvillage.proboards29.com/index.cgi.proboards.comI know that server 29 had problems last week but they didn't affect me in anyway at all. Today server 29 has been taking me to the main page ok but then continually failing when calling up a board or post. Is there a problem?

I would check your home pages to make sure they hadn't been somehow hijacked by spyware if they are being taken to different pages other than the server.

And it really did take me 5 tries. According to form I'm virus and spyware free and I'm experiencing this problem only on the Village and this site. Not the other proboards sites I visit.

Hmm maybe a last resort, try clearing out your temp files, cookies, shut down your computer for about 5 minutes and restart it and see if that doesn't maybe clear it.

This has to be a problem specific to your computer, have never heard of this from any other users. Have no idea why it would be exclusive to proboards either, sounds a little strange to me

Delete your temporary internet files and cookies then check and make sure your browser is up to date.

OK here's the full story.
I can access all proboard sites I visit. All is well until I attempt to make a post. In this case now, the Reply Button has refused to operate and I'm answering this in the Quick Reply. I know that when I hit the post reply button it will take me to - "This Page Cannot Be Displayed" two, three, sometimes four times. I keep hitting the back browser button and trying until I succeed.
Even though the 'Page Can Not Be Displayed' sign came up... the chances are that my post has been successful, then I have to delete the excess posts which also give me 'Page not Displayed.'
All other types of forums I visit are working correctly for me.
What I've done.
Cleared all temporary files and cookies.
Run Spybot and deleted any Spyware - tracking cookies only.
Run Ad-Aware and deleted all spyware - tracking cookies only.
Run a full system Virus check - nothing found.
Freed up space on my hard disk.
Ensured IE was up to date.
Did a System Restore and took the computer settings back to what they were two days before the trouble started.
Did a defrag.
Now I'll admit I'm not the sharpest tack in the box when it comes to computers but seeing as this is only happening on Proboard sites.. it really has me stumped.
My setting have all been restored to what they were three days previously.
I just can't work out why I can get onto the sites, call up the threads and then start having problems when I attempt to post.
Any advice, gratefully received.

Have you tried another browser, just to see if it's a browser problem or not? Sounds like something to do with form submission. Can you do things like modify your profile?

Never tried another browser California, IE has always done well for me. Four years and not a problem.
Went and modified a couple of profiles and they were accepted with no problems.
