angry bear issues when accepting pending accounts

When accepting pending accounts, an angry bear error occurs which leaves the account in a state of pending  with the user , but active on the forum.


Any help would be most gratefully recieved

Hi Micky,

This is currently a known issue. When you approve the accounts, they are approved and can be accessed by the new members. You can view their accounts in your members list by clicking the "members" button in the top menu bar. The member count and newest member will have to be updated manually on our end. I've added your forum to the ticket to our system admins about this issue so that it can be corrected for your forum as well. My apologies for the inconvenience in the meantime, however.

Thanks for the reply Ricky , It seems that memebers are telling me that they are still pending awaiting acceptance, having read the forums it seems that this problem is not just mine,

To clarify, mickylewis, you got the angry bear when clicking "Accept" on the pending registration page and now your members is reporting that they are still locked out by a message stating their account is awaiting approval?

This is unique in that other reports seem to claim that after receiving the angry bear the pending user in question was able to access their account without trouble. Regardless, we're aware of this issue and finding a fix has been made a priority - I'll update you on this when I can.

Thanks Dave , yep to clarify when i click accept on the pending application , it says angry bear, and users are telling me still need approval.

What were the usernames of your members still waiting to get in? While we work on the cause of the issue we can manually approve those accounts for you.

Hi Dave, Now getting this error message when trying to make changes, "Invalid security log type in Forum::insert_security_log()."

Thanks for the update on that, mickylewis. As far as members who are still reporting that they're stuck in the account approval phase, though, do you have any of their usernames offhand? With those, we can approve them for you even if you don't see them pending from your admin control panel.

I just checked your members and those 4 you mentioned all seem to be approved just fine. I can login as any of those accounts.

Are you sure that this is happening on darksidetd.freeforums.net? I see you have another forum with a similar URL.

Hi Keith, Have just created another test account deputydowg worked just fine , all approved and showing as a new member in info centre, no angry bear, so issue seems to have been resolved, Im thinking that i might dump the accounts and get them to resign up,

Yes ur right I also have darksidedragons.freeforums.net, I love this Proboards, and you tech guys are great too...

Ohhh just a cheeky question> is there any way to filter out peoples last logins if over 3 days which highlights RED if over 3 days . Once agian thanks guys..

It's worth noting that I was only able to reproduce the issue by creating a new global account with a new email address and then attempting to register a forum account on it - if I register a new forum account on my current globla account, it behaves as it should with no errors whatsoever as you just experienced. Our devs nailed down a fix for it, but technically the issue should still be producible until they push the fixed code live.
