How do I rate and review a plugin, I can't do either atm? If you're logged into your global account on the home page, you should be able to review plugins. Check the very top right of the page to see if you're logged in or not.

Can you guys at least make it so that if someone reviews it doesn't automatically leave a rating? For example, I just noticed: www.proboards.com/library/plugins/item/124 - "Admin" has "reviews" that TWO times, both times leaving 1 star. Not intentionally, but because he/she is asking for help with it. This of course affects the overall rating. Also, not picking on this user, but: www.proboards.com/library/user/1404762Has 2 ratings, right... a 1 star, and 5 star. Yet their "average" in their profile is 1.. I could have sworn it should be 3....

the 2 "admins" on that review list were different people, but I see what you are getting at. I felt sorta cheated on those review by getting 1 star so I gave myself 5 stars to balance it out.

On that page, look at the VERY bottom and just to the left of the page (below the "Reviews" box), you should see it says "Review this Plugin", click that and a popup should appear, which then allows you to select a star rating + comment. It may help if you let the staff know what does or doesn't happen, or what you can/can't see..

Sorted now thanks Stinky666 - I hadn't clicked far enough into the library (if you know what I mean) to see the "Review this Plugin" at the bottom of the page.

What I'd like to know is if I install a plugin from my admin panel -> library, how will I know if a later version is released? rumor is you will see some sort of indication (maybe in admin panel or PM) that a plugin has been updated. I might just be wishful thinking though... We do have plans for how updates will be announced. There will very likely be an indicator that appears on the Plugin management page. Clicking it would install the update. We have various levels of implementation for this concept. What will be added next, and what will be the final I can't say yet. I have no idea when these things will be added either. Things like the libraries (which aren't part of v5, they are part of our homepage) are still be worked on. Again this, at least for now, really falls on the author. Provide people with a link to your forum and a thread where you provide support. If you don't then risk having a lower rating from people who aren't using the system properly and posting support questions in your reviews. Originally I think I was the one pushing for reviews with no ratings, but if i remember correctly the counter argument was that we didn't want people having conversations and doing things like asking for help in the reviews area. So it was decided that reviews must have ratings because that's the purpose of the feature. That being said perhaps we can put some sort of disclaimer or agreement when reviewing that explains this better. We will discuss this idea further. But the point of a review is to have a rating. We want reviews and we want ratings. I'm sure authors feel the same way. Also, not picking on this user, but: www.proboards.com/library/user/1404762Has 2 ratings, right... a 1 star, and 5 star. Yet their "average" in their profile is 1.. I could have sworn it should be 3.... You are on that persons Author page. They haven't made anything at all. Their overall ratings are 1 star. Those reviews are reviews they wrote. That has no bearing on their ratings. Find a page where the person has produced many plugins and themes, and haven't left any reviews. They have no relation to each other. Now that being said. I think there is an update that has new rules regarding 1 star ratings. There's going to be a no star rating. I think that will apply in situations where the person hasn't made anything. Two example I can think of are plugins/themes that have no ratings (the reason we're doing this is for this one) would have no rating, instead of one star. Or if an author has produced no themes for example they simply don't have an average theme rating. No idea when this will be added.

That's a side-effect of an earlier bug in the library, I'll try to go through and fix it today. Let me know if it's happening to newly uploaded plugins at this point. Im still seeing it on all of my plugins that use a post key, including tournament brackets that I uploaded a few days ago

Hm, that problem of the previous updates showing today's date was fixed like a week and half ago, I'll have to see why it isn't live yet.
