Forum URL: obernewtynnet.proboards30.comHi guys, Just thought I'd see if anyone's seen this before. Please note this only happens in Firefox (v 1.07 and 1.5). When viewing a thread, occasionally the miniprofiles overlap. Please see the following images. A refresh will sometimes fix the problem, sometimes not. I did some testing and it looks like it happens when the post above it doesn't contain much text, and/or the mini profile has a fair bit of info in it. It could also be caused by CrossFury (but I really hope this isn't the case) since It's the crossfury field "Guild" that seems to always be overlapped. more images - before, when post contained two lines, and after, when post contain about 20 lines. After amending the post to have loads of extra lines of text in it, refresh always yielded the correct result...no more overlapping. Is this just a firefox "thing"? It just seems to occasionally ignore miniprofile & post as one table row... If anyone else has come across this and fixed it, please let me know. In the interim I've told people to just refresh, post more in each post, use IE, or put up with it And just want to reiterate that this is NEVER a problem in IE Thanks, Minnn

Yes, that was the first thing I got everyone to try, and tried it myself. It's something that inconsistantly, constantly happens, if that makes sense. It's not a big issue for me personally since I primarily use IE, but a lot of my members are devout FF users. I'd like something official to tell them so they stop bugging me

I do believe that the miniprofile code you're using may be causing it. Try removing it for a day or two and see if people Notice a change. If so, then I would definitely suggest finding someone to make a different version of that code for you.

I have seen members signatures escaping before in firefox in a similar fashon to your screenshot, the sig box stays small, but the sig is still the normal size, resulting in it overlapping the post under the post with escaping sig, i have never been able to manually recreate the problem, so i always just attributed it to a firefox bug

Thanks guys. re: Virus' observations: The crossfury code is more important than the FF users occasionally getting a mini-profile overlap, so I'll leave it in for now. Martyn: Firefox bug it is thanks.

You said occasionally, can you define how long that is in your books, might be easier to look in what causes it to submit a bug report, if its a very rare thing i doubt its anything more than a random rendering error

You said occasionally, can you define how long that is in your books, might be easier to look in what causes it to submit a bug report, if its a very rare thing i doubt its anything more than a random rendering error It doesn't happen every post. One post might be fine the first view, then once you reply to it, the overlapping occurs (in a post far above the one you just made). Sometimes you'll get the minor overlapping, then refresh, and it'll be worse, rather than loading properly. 'Occasionally' means...constant, but inconsistant. There doesn't seem to be any pattern to it other than what we've already observed - the short posts/long mini profiles/small signatures.
