You'd have to use version 1.0.1 for that as every version past that works off of the news feed which is only visible on the home page.

Is it also possible to make the font size larger?

Yeah, just add this between the opening and closing style tags and change the number to whatever you want.

#fscroller { font-size: 16px; }

Calendar events currently aren't available on the home page, so it wouldn't be possible to grab their information in any way.

To add a welcome back message, go to Plugins > Build > V4 News Fader.

In the Components tab, find this line:

{foreach $[plugin.settings.headlines]}fContent[$[plugin.settings.headlines.index]] = proboards.plugin.get('v4_news_fader').settings.headlines[$[plugin.settings.headlines.index]].line;{/foreach}

And change it to this.

if(proboards.data('user').name != "Guest")
fContent.push('Glad to have you back, '+proboards.data('user').name+'.');
{foreach $[plugin.settings.headlines]}fContent.push(proboards.plugin.get('v4_news_fader').settings.headlines[$[plugin.settings.headlines.index]].line);{/foreach}

That code was for an older version of the plugin. Now you can just add this to the top of Themes > Layout Templates > Home.

Ok i have the script in Brian but the user name doesn't appear, just the Welcome User appears

This is awesome - great to be able to imbed vars and html links - is it possible to increase the permitted char length for the Headline fields in Admin Settings > Settings > Forum Settings > News Feed to allow for pre-resolved code/link values?

For example - this:

 truncates well before the end tags.
