I'll give the latest one a try and let you know.
If I'm reading those events right, even sending a PM to myself should work for testing purposes, is that right?

I think its working right now. I get the pop up, and the reset notice, and the pop up comes back on the next message after clicking the 'click here' button. One observation, when following the "OK" link in the pop up to get to the new PM, the reset notification does not show up on that PM page. I have to navigate to another page (inbox, etc.) or reload the message before it shows up. That may just be the way it works, but it took me a few tries to realize the message was actually working since it didn't appear on the first page I was expecting it to. If my expectations were off, that's fine. And by the way (FYI for anyone using this helpful plugin), my scheme of using a 'group' to allow members to opt in to the pop up system seems to be working fine. I created a group called "PM Pop-up" made it open to anyone and put it lowest on the group heirarchy list. If this is the only group the member is a part of and the member doesn't want the popup group name displyed under their user name, there is a place in the profile, on the 'settings' tab toward the bottom, in a field called 'Display Group' where they can opt out of having it displayed. After installing and activating the plugin, go to 'manage' and edit the permissions. Who can view is set to custom, rank to optional and group to 'PM Pop-up'. Then only members who join the 'PM Pop-up' group get the notifications. Thanks again ®i©hie for all of your great work! -Tom

forum url? i've asked proboards to add a variable in which will correct this, but i don't know when it might be added. in the meantime it most likely to be that it's not picking up from the bubble on the page. i'll take a look tomorrow and i'll see if i can write a quick edit to deal with it in the meantime until the variable gets added.

Ahhh, it could be that the bubble on the page doesn't appear for my layout. http;//theavatarrp.proboards.com

i've simplified the code to just say "you have 1 (or more) pms, would you like to view them?"
if/when proboards adds in a global variable to grab the total new pms, i will update again.

Saltshaker, definitely a ProBoard issue. I wasn't able to import a plugin last night either. Got the Server Error. Today, it imported without a problem.
