How did you get a lot of traffic to your forum?

yes i have, but i didnt actually know that it needed to be my link in the buttons.  i just put them there for people to use them selfs.

YES! People already know how to find facebook and pinterest and twitter. What they need to be able to do is find the GoldenBeatz facebook page, and the Goldenbeatz pinterest account and the Goldenbeatz twitter feed. 

We just added social media nav links to our forum. Feel free to check it out for inspiration.

YES! People already know how to find facebook and pinterest and twitter. What they need to be able to do is find the GoldenBeatz facebook page, and the Goldenbeatz pinterest account and the Goldenbeatz twitter feed.

edit: iv got one twitter account for all 3 sites <<removed links>> and i just run them all though that, someone from this site is helping me with a new twitter page for myshopp and mycarr so i can use mine just for goldenbeatz

i dont have the time to run them all seperatetly atm, so im trying my best

im on with seperating them with help from someone on this site ( unnamed ) 

iv followed all the right people anyways so there all going to get the same tweets anyways.

iv liked u on fb but iv run out of follows until i get followers back on twitter i went on a follow spree the other day and did about 300, so i have to wait for them to follow back. @minimat111    genie green (fb)

Well, I don't have nariadreaming 's numbers on my 10 month and my 1 year old forums. I'm at 1800 members on one and 2600 members on the other.

I get around 1400 visitors a day on each.

I, didn't have another established forum to get members from. I'm not knocking that though, great strategy actually and wow, what growth! I can't believe you haven't money tized that forum. If I owned it, my day job would be long gone.

I picked two new products to build my forum around, and only so many of them sell ea year as they are expensive. That's about all I want to say about the product/forums here. But as the products that my forums are centered around sell, my forums continue to grow. Other people have created competitor forums as well, but currently we have twice as many members and posts as they do.

I get alot of traffic from other people's Facebook pages. I and the members share cool posts to certain FB groups and bam, new members join.

Also, I have 12 supporting vendors who pay to advertise and talk about their products on my forums. I also have a very strategic Viglink program and daily routine. Just adding "viglink" isn't enough, you have to have a daily routine and post the right links weekly.

I also have Google adsense but Viglink far exceeds adsense revenue.

Topic, taking advantage of FB's weaknesses, good SEO and search results and having outstanding moderators is the way to go to grow a new forum. Unless, you can take members away from a collapsing forum that is already established but falling apart.

Also, there is nothing wrong wth making money from a forum that you work hard on. And, there is alot of money to be made if managed the right way. But the members have to be the focus, and you have to really like other people to be good at this.

solarbronco the reason we haven't monetized is the amount of traffic we have and the cost to go ad-free.

You really should be getting a decent volume of traffic before you even consider going ad free and monitizing your forum.

Iv listened to ALL you're advice ( i read all the old posts yesterday lol and laughed on my behalf : ) ) all the catogories on the front with the big images are opened ( collapsiable plugin ) on first view.

and iv de-cluttered the top of the posts ( time stamps, likes etc etc ) , deleted the words 'click here' on the front image lol.

iv split them up but im running 2 as sister sites ...... good idea? yes no ? 

and iv got rid of dookie in the sidebars and moved 'members online' to the sidebars .... i think its better now.

go give me your worst
