Forum URL: tullatalk.proboards75.comIs there a way to trigger email notifications on New Posts? Thank you for your help. Pete (The Oldfella) Yes there is a way. You know when you reply to a thread you see an option that says "bookmark" this thread? Click on that to bookmark that thread to be able to receive emails everytime someone replies to that thread. Also if you reading the reply and want to bookmark it look for this image in the reply over the thread creators profile. Make sure you set up your bookmark preferences to be able to recieve the emails. Click on your profile then click on "bookmarks"... Just edit your bookmark preferences and save changes.

Thanks Snakeair - I can always count on you. I know about bookmarking when I post, and when I reply - but when some one makes a new post I have no way of knowing unless and until I visit my board. So, what I need to know, is there a way to know when some ones makes a new post... like an automatic notification? If not, this - I think, would make a super good suggestion to include in the next fix, you think?

The methond i've suggested will have to be done everytime you want to get a email about a new reply in that thread you just bookmarked.. Currently there is no feature in which if you change will automatically send you a email everytime a new thread is made and reply to. This might be in the suggestions board already. Might want to check the sticky thread in that board to see if that's been suggested.

Don't mean to speak out of turn here, but i don't believe this feature will ever be added. If you want to see if there are any new posts, then open up your board... it is quicker then loading your emails. I can understand keeping an eye on one topic, or maybe a few, but all new posts is a bit crazy.
Feel free to argue the point though.

...and thanks Craig - too bad though - I think for a small board this is a good idea. Now, if the Admin does not want to bother, then he/she does not have turn it on... it would be an option as is now on other boards, like phpBB and most other systems - think about it, please.

Follow-up - The Option could be made available on each board, the the Board's admin, and/or members would request notifications based on interest; each Moderator, for example, would want to tick his/her boards or areas of responsibility requesting notifications to promptly check out questions or concerns. Thanks for listening

Thanks for listening Pete (The Oldfella) So you are talking about asking for notifications in a particular board, not the whole forum?

Yes, exactly - on a need basis. On a small board the admin may want to tick one, some or all boards, depending of the number of staff members available. I belong to a large number of boards (not much else to do), and this feature comes very hand... a must on some. Thanks for reconsidering this suggestion, I think the fix will be well received by all, and this Oldfella will be eternally grateful. Thanks fellas.
