Forum URL: inker.proboards11.comI have a few Boards that are password protected. The issues I have is that when someone posts behind these password protected threads, it is protected only to those who try and get to the thread via clicking the thread/post.. however, it takes nothing to view last posts by any member, even the ones who posted in the password protected areas, is this an error or a forum flaw? I must add that I recently had a forum member place a skin on the forum, but his image host quit on him, so I turned the forum back to basics, and add a few little things myself (nothing in the headers/footers from the former skin) but now, the page loads with errors on it, as posted in the task bar, bottom left... Also that seems to have dissapeared (to me) is the ads at the top that use to be in a group of 4. Again, I have no real knowledge of codes etc other then the ones that u can throw in your posts located in the menus etc... Any Idea how to stop people from seeing stuff behind the password sections when clicking on "View last posts" also why am I seing errors on the page when nothing seems to be wrong, and headers n footers are clean.

I have logged out and returned as guest, and cleared my cookies etc, I still am able to view the most recent posts behind password protected area's , I even signed up a new name to be certain that it is viewed by registered & guests..

I had a friend visit the forum and check, he is not a member, he was able to view password protected stuff... Clicking the board where the password protected stuff is does ask for the password, but clicking a member and clicking recent posts shows stuff behind them potected areas.
How do I prevent this from happening?? I found it was no use turning off info center, simple to click a member name and see last set amount of posts and see the protected info appear. So i turned the nifo back on...
This would also apply to the threads hidden as well? Clicking a member whois likely to have posted in a hidden post and seeing his recent posts no longer makes these things protected. Hope there is a solution to this problem. I am very happy I am smart not to put personal information behind these "protected" areas.

That isn't possible, for any posts to show in a password protected board, they must have the password cookie on their PC. Are these posts in a sub-board of that password protected board?

Perhaps place those boards into a categories only accesible to the member groups you restrict it to? (You may do that upon creating the category or modifying it)

I understand about the cookie, I have myself cleared all the cookies etc, the password protection seems to only work when you click the thread, however viewing posts works well to see the info..
I do have suboards inside each these area's, but I figured they might need to be protected as well, I took the time yesterday to add a password entrance to them as well.
Again, about the cookie, will the password stuff show up if I have the cookie on my comp? But still when I try and hit the thread it asks for the password. Seems to be the case with me and several of those who have viewed my threads.

Also, with subboards, fi you make the password the same as the parent, you won't have to enter it again.

I did a full cookie clean out, plus did a cleansweep with nortons cleensweep, you are correct, it no longer shows me the posts that I was concerned about, it is resolved, thanks for your help, and have a great weekend.
