I've noticed that some guests on my forum create new threads/posts and after having used the forum for a while, they create an account. However all previous created posts are not claimed and are still under a guest name. Is it possible to move/set these posts to belong to the newly created account, or any random account for that matter?
Thanks!

Sadly its not possible, though could be a request. An admin will reply later to see if this could be a feature.

That's too bad. And in that case, I'd have another request; Expanding the Forum Cleanup function to have an option to show/calculate/delete all posts made by guests, or by a certain unregistered guest name/names.
Thanks for your reply Eli.

Hi, Nathaniël. I don't think it would be possible to accurately tie all prior guest posts to the account no matter how we went about it. I've labeled the thread as a feature request for your Forum Cleanup suggestion though.

Hi Brian,
Thanks for your reply. I don't entirely agree, in the sense that it doesn't have to be an easy option. If it was something a staff member could do manually for each post, or by selecting them within a thread then it's just the update of a owner ID. And as for a member's post count that could be done with a post recount, Forum Cleanup or again as manual edit as done in Staff Options.
But I understand that I don't know the specifics to ProBoards' database structure.
Thanks anyway, also for making a feature request out of the Forum Cleanup.
Regards, NN

It wouldn't be practical to do it that way, as they can't be relied on to be consistent over a long period of time.

I've labeled the thread as a feature request for your Forum Cleanup suggestion though. How about if it was based solely on IP? That would be a lot of "junk" data to store for a feature that wouldn't be that heavily used. Plus I can see people complaining about posts they made as a guest linking to their account? Seems more problematic than helpful.

How about if it was based solely on IP? It's exactly as Brian had explained, they change all too often. The same being in the case of my latest guest making an account, several posts from different IPs. Michael I suppose you might be right there, however if the process is manual to the staff it can be done on request or by desire of staff. But I guess different types of fora have different kinds of wishes and requests.
