Advent Calender Change to V5 ??

and you should already be able to click the images and have them pop-out. all 3 browsers were tested for that. is it switching to the advent image from the cover image? the cover image wont do a pop out, it just switches to the advent image. all the advent images are different.


what might be happening is that since september ended, you cant see september images, but you just have to change the month in the settings to october and you can see the first images up to october's current date.

Well I can get the images on September and I have added 6 images for October but I cannot get them to "pop-out" at all..

I can get images for September and October and I can click on the date but all I get is "There are no events for this day." I haven't the possibility to click on an image.

Huh - - I knew that I was doing something wrong...sorry Wormo !!

dont click on the number. I left that section alone. click on the image itself. what happens then? what browser?

I can't click on the image, nothing - I am using Firefox 24.0

scroll to the top and bottom of the page. I am wondering if it is putting the image somewhere ti shouldnt be.

I was working on transitions last night, so when I get home I can push that version to dropbox

So - I have twiddled and things have started to work (told you it was me) and now I have this:



and all can be clicked on again and open to 320.240 which is what I set them to - I assume I can also make them larger??!!

October is set for the 30 days but I only can get 2 pics showing..



then the third pic is this...although as I said I added 30 days..



and this is how I have done the settings..

it wont let you open pics for days that havent passed yet. that was the main purpose of the advent calendar.

the next version lets you define the size of the pop-up for the images, and it resizes any larger images to fit that box. so you dont have to have all the images the same size. it resizes the images to fit each of the calendar boxes as well. all of my default images are all different sizes.

the last image you posted is the default action of clicking on a calendar box. in the case of a day with an advent image, you can just click to the side of the image or above it.

im guessing I need to put in something that lets the admin open any box regardless of day?

All sounds good to me Wormopolis - as far as "put in something that lets the admin open any box regardless of day", I leave that up to you - on the last code I couldn't see any pics until the day. It would make things a little easier - I set everything up each year but couldn't actually see until the day if it had worked...a comma was missing a couple of times and I was searching like mad for a few minutes!!

One thing is the calender itself. When I set the advent calender up, OK,  but how do I see the birthdays for example - when I click I get the pic but the birthdays etc are no longer showing. I know we can click on show birthdays and we do not have calender "events" often but how we do we see if so??

the only birthday I had on my test forum showed right above the image. it made the image slightly smaller to accomodate.

On the test board there doesn't seem to be any birthdays showing - as mine is in October I would assume that it would be seen...odd..but something that can possibly be sorted out later I suppose??

Again, as you say you cannot see the pics until the exact day, perhaps it has something to do with that although I would have thought that my birthday would be showing somehow.

hmm.. do you perhaps have your birthday hidden? do you see your birthday on the calendar with th eplugin turned off?

Morning Wormo - just got up in Germany (6.21a.m) and looked on the test board. My birthday is always showing - well, should be showing. I have turned the Plugin off and my birthday (and the mods, we all have them showing) is still not showing. I thought that it was an automatic thing??

Whatever the problem is then it isn't your Plugin that is causing it, but it means I cannot check to see how birthday and pics are together.

Good heavens Wormopolis I never knew that - well birthdays show on the real board so I must have checked it without even thinking about it !!

OK - enabled birthdays and my birthday appears just above the pic with the Plugin turned on..if it changes the size of the pic slightly then I could compensate with a slightly larger pic I suppose...?!

it would still shrink it down to fit the remainder of the cell. otherwise its going to do wacky things with row sizes.
