Preface: From being a PBV5 Beta Tester I had the humble opportunity to provide feedback and suggestions when applicable. I remember submitting two separate requests related to the labeling system but all of the old topics from Beta V5 have been archived (or deleted?) by PB Staff so I cannot find it/them for context.
Suggestion #2: I would like to submit the request to institute category-level labeling ("CLL") that would be fairly identical to the existing board-level labeling ("BLL"). The primary difference is that CLLs would incorporate default labels (created in the identical fashion as BLLs) that could be applied automatically to all new and existing boards in a category. For fine-grained control of this there would be two pertinent drop-down admin options:
1) A choice to allow or not the the option to delete the CLLs at the board-level (disallowing would have no "X" option available).
1a) CLLs would have zero a/effect ("impact" ) on the functionality of BLLs (in that they can be added/removed as desired) and they would sit above the BLLs.
2) A choice whether CLLs would be applied to new, existing, or both options for boards.
2a) Boards moved into a category would auto-acquire the CLLs and respectively boards moved from a category would auto-strip the CLLs.
2b) Boards would dynamically acquire new CLLs labels, if any, when moved again to another category (or sub-board which would gather parent labels).
Source: This idea just came to me a fewminutes hours ago whilst applying a redundant set of labels to existing boards. I tested already the "duplicate a board" option with one having existing labels but they do not carry over (the reason provided by Martin/Ryan/Ricky for this was in one of my two archived topics mentioned at preface but I don't remember).
Example: Gaming category. Within are boards for each major console and a set of labels (such like genre or esrb ratings) need be created but without CLLs one would have to replicate the labels X times over but CLLs would negate the mundane redundancy.

Suggestion #3: If my memory serves correctly then I think this was one of my initial 2 Beta V5 fixes/suggestions via preface. This suggestion also compliments #2 and dually is less complex . Simply put: have the ability to rearrange labels (CLL and BLL) which, in-turn, rearrange appropriately in a board drop-down menu and where applicable in the Admin Control Panel.
Lots of sites on the Internet (like Gmail) use a grayed-out double-colon icon :: to indicate when something is moveable or re-arrangeable. I know a good bit about keeping a product line consistent and thus the icons from Member Groups would work perfectly!

Sorry for my thesis. I think lots of users could benefit from this all the way from personal (i.e., role-play) to business (help desks) forums.

In likeness from my other suggestion I am posting this request in the Support Board.
