Forum URL: www.southernwaoutdoors.com.auI'm currently documenting for my Global Moderator - GM functions in my upgraded forum. Using my admin function, I've promoted colingm (me as a member) to Global Moderator so I can preform, test and document all the various functions. I'm currently documenting the Move - Entire Thread moderator function. In my forum I have a Category called MODERATOR'S BENCH which is both only visible to Admins and Global Moderators AND is password protected. In MODERATOR'S BENCH I have two boards, Moderator's Discussion for discussions between Admin and Global Moderators and Moderated Threads where we "quarantine" threads so all staff can see them before they are deleted and can be quoted on in the event of disputation by the original poster. Using colingm I've attempted to move a thread from my The Sand Pit board to Moderated Threads and I received the following error: Error - you do not have permission to access this board. Using colingm I can see the board and access the board once I enter the board password. Fearing that I may have missed something, I logged out and logged in with my admin account and repeated all of the above with the same result. It's only a guess, but is this to do with the password being there, had no problems undertaking such a thread move in 4.5?

Sounds like it may be the password. Have you tried temporarily removing the password. Do you get the same error?

I was hoping that there would be a work around or fix without lessening the security of that Category and two Boards - it would be a loss of functionality if V5 forced the removal of the password so I would prefer a fix that sustains the password - especially when V5 allows you to add a password. I'd suggest that the Move moderator function needs to prompt for and pass the password.

So with the password on it wouldn't move at all?
Anyways, an admin will respond later today. I am thinking as you did, that it should prompt for the password.

Hi Colin Molloy, I'll see if we can add a password prompt for these situations, it may take some time for that to be added though if our developers agree that it's needed. In the meantime though, if you visit the passworded board first and enter in the password, you should then be able to move topics to that board without an issue since the password is saved in your web browser. Feel free to let me know if this is not the case, however

Hi Ricky - that would be great - and yes, visiting the password protected board first works, but if we can reinstate the previous functionality that would be preferred please.
