I have a question that maybe you can help me with.
I bought my site back in May and I have the database from the old TBL site. I would like to try and bring a feature from my old site to the new site, but I don't know where to look for the code in the db.
If I give you the link to my old site via the wayback machine and tell you what I am looking for, do you think you can tell me where I might find the code in the db?
Appreciate any advice you might have on this.

Ok, the more I think about this, maybe I should post this in a different area as a request, since I don't know if the codes would be compatible anyway. I just don't know where? I don't think its a plug in, but I'll start there.
Staff you can delete this thread if you want.

If you just say what the code did, then we could say if it's already something that has been created for V5, or if not possibly help you with it, or at the very least point you into the correct board (Plugin, Template, or Header/Footer requests).

I just made a post in the plug in request area, that explains it, and I tagged Wormopolis and Brian Ordonez since I wondered if the sidebar redux could be utilized to show the categories and their top 10 threads. I know you know a lot about this stuff so your thoughts are helpful. Thanks.

Ok, so I tried the plug in request area and find out that this cannot be done with a plug in and asked where feature requests need to be made and was told to make the request here. So, not wanting to start a second thread and risk getting told to use the original one, I am using the original thread with an updated title and a revised post as follows. I bought my site back in May and I have the database from the old TBL site. I would like to try and bring a feature from my old site to the new site, but I don't know where to look for the code in the db and I'm not sure they would be compatible anyway. Here is what I would like to do web.archive.org/web/20130316053245/http://www.trueblueliberty.com/On the right hand side is a column, panel, sidebar, container. I don't know what you want to call it. It consists of the most recent or active threads (top 10) in each category and subcategories. Each of the categories/subcategories is collapsible via the arrow next to the category title. It would be nice if the admin could choose whether to have it on the main page only or globally. Globally would be great if it can only be one option. It would also be nice if the members could choose which side they wanted it on. If that isn't possible then the right side would be fine. I've included an image of just the panel on the right as well, so you can see the collapsed category by the arrows.. Thanks. Attachments:

Eventually it is our hope to bring this sort of functionality to the custom pages section of the forum. No information right now as to when or if this will be happening though! This is on our list of "wants" though.

This is on our list of "wants" though. Is there a reason why it would need to be a custom page? I'm just wondering if its possible for a custom page to be the home page when you have a domain name? Thanks for the reply Michael.

You can set a custom page as the forum's homepage, regardless of whether or not you have a custom domain.
