deactivating account instead of deleting {feature request}

I was wondering if that could be a feature request for PB.

I mean the members will have the choice to leave the forum but instead of actually deleting the account from the forum could it be deactivated meaning the profile will exist but everything inside of is gone/locked kinda like a shell.

I've seen this option on my forums and was wondering if it could be worked onto here with no issues.

How I would see it working would be like this;
Once the account is deactive no one can enter it not even the member who did it.

it would act like a safe only without a way in once you walk out and shut the door it cannot be open.


Facebook and a few others have this feature and it is handy.

Hi,

This is a feature already. Visit a member's profile then press the "Edit Profile" button. On the next page click the Staff Options tab and set "Account Disabled" to "Yes". When an account is disabled, the member will not be able to login to the account until it is enabled again

I know of that one
what I was thinking if it was possible to connect the delete account to the disable account so when a member decides to delete their account it would remove all their information but the account still be their attach to the forum.

I see, thanks for clarifying. I have doubts that this will be something we would add in, but I'll mark this as a feature request for our devs to rule on one way or another just in case
