I could only send notifications on the button click itself. thats why its a one shot deal. we cant set on page changes, or I would have it do it as soon as it came back from the page refresh. the refresh though CHECKS the other person's key to see if they received it. if they didnt, it pops the button for another chance. they might be getting the "you win/lose" dialog at that moment and it would overwrite recent pushes.

Which button? The 'I moved' button, or the "Notify' button? But mid game they wouldn't be getting that 'you win/lose' dialogue. I thought maybe the reason was because if both people are there in the thread, it behaves differently than if one person is there and an hour later the other player shows up and gets their notification, because they were not on the page. This is confusing but I thought if the person was already on the page maybe it wasn't sending it out, because they are already there? Does that make sense?

they could be getting the win/lose from a different game. this is written to track multiple games.

the receiver doesnt have to be online to get notifications. it will push to their key everytime because their name is present in the first post (see I told ya I did that for a reason). however their key could be overwritten and the push removed in special circumstances. which is why the "notify" button is there to give another chance.

Do you mean other people's games can affect our game? At that time he only had the one game going and we both were online playing at the same time.

One of our bishops is behaving weirdly, it moved more like a knight would (and I'm sure that the plugin doesn't usually allow that). I'm not sure why?




That's the move there, it's the black bishop on the top.

I pulled your entire game into my test board and I couldnt get the bishop to do that.

can you do a couple things for me

1.  update to the newest version of chess.
2.  go into the key settings tab, and change write access to everyone

I don't know what happened, it's not my pieces, but when I was going to move, I noticed that it didn't look quite right.

and you can set your key write permissions back to members and staff


also I noticed that the board is quite wide for your site, so Im going to add in some stuff to try and shrink it down

Violette found yet another scenario I didn't consider concerning checkmate. So that is now fixed.

I just realized that the endgame thing I added to make it mark threads when a game is over is only going to work if notifier is loaded, so expect yet another update at some point.
