I apparently changed it a while back. when you get a checkmate, it should tell you right away you got it and pop up a dialogue saying so.

Im not sure why it isnt for you, I just ran a test on it and it worked for me. I setup a new game on your board and Im going to lose on purpose to see if you get the dialogue when you get a checkmate

I updated to 2.3.0
Tried adding td.activeTURN div.chessStats {border: 2px solid #00FF00} to the bottom of the css. I must be missing something, I don't see a change.

Wormo, I think you might have misunderstood what I was asking for regarding the 'turns'. I took that code and added it to the dark blue theme to see if I could get it to work. then I went to look at Anna and JJ's game to see and they were still both red boxes. But JJ says it was showing his box as green when it was his turn. The players already know whose turn it is via notifications. What I was hoping for was that a non player would be able to see whose turn it was. Like when I go look at someone else's game, be able to see whose turn it is. Is that possible?

Oh ok. Is there a way to have both? Even though you have that line in the wrong spot, it does serve a purpose. Once you have a notification and go to the thread, IF you leave without moving, you no longer have the notification, so its easy to forget that it is your turn. So, even though its in the wrong spot it is still a nice thing to have.

notification will only clear if they hit the "Your Move" button.  simply viewing the thread wont clear the notification because you can set a key on a pageload.

Thanks, I got to see the box on one of my games and can't wait to be able to see whose turn it is on other games. I started checking threads that didn't have 'game over' in them and found a game of mine that I forgot about.

if the game was created far enough back, it might not have the components saved in the thread key that allows for notifications. notifications needed v2.2.2 chess to work correctly, so if that game was started under a lower version it wont work with notifications.

otherwise, one of the players should just be able to click the "notify other player" button to get the notifications back on track

It was created May 10th, but when I moved it should get back on track. I need to check the library and see if the latest update is there.

You can't have pieces between the rook and the king. And the king and rook cannot have been previously moved. That applies to both king and queen side.
