Also, I played Anna today and lost, so I could test something. When I got the pop up about losing, I backed out. And went to other threads. When I went back the pop up was gone and never came back. That is how people get around taking the loss or giving wins.

likely.  I figured they were getitng the dialogue but not accepting it.  I am changing the dialogue to float center screen to make it more noticable, but if they are doing it on purpose to avoid it tarnishing their record, they should be reprimanded by not being allowed to play for a while.  they are showing their character when they get around the scoring system.

That's just it, I have no way of knowing for certain that is what is happening. Here's another wrench in the works. They are both from Germany and get disconnected a lot. Is it possible that these missed pop ups or notifications are occurring when hey get disconnected.

Also, we have noticed that the notify other player button appears more frequently than it used to. About every 4 moves.

But, my next question is tied to your idea of missing the pop up. On some of my themes the acknowledge button kind of blends in with the background of the pop up. Is there a way for me to darken the button on the pop up without affecting the forum? That might help. The buttons on these themes are black and or navy blue, but for some reason the pop up is showing them in the same color as the background, a golden color and the font on the button is light, so its hard to see and read. I don't why its not picking up the dark buttons used in these themes. Is there a css fix that I could do to make the button on the pop up match the themes?

Im writing into the notification plugin a way for admin to view/edit a players notifications. you will click on their stats box at the top of the game and it will bring up a dialogue to let you force a new notification into their cue, or even manually edit their win/loss.


the dialogues follow the CSS of the forum, but you can affect the dialogues using the selector:
ui-dialog

maybe give it a solid color background

Got the answer back on the retrieval. They can't do it. Is there any way that there could be a safeguard installed on the newer versions of the plug-ins that alerts the users like me, that the information needs to be carried over or all will be lost?

Will this make it possible for an admin to fix a problem with the notifications?

Case in point, a member on my forum who is not involved in playing any chess games, is getting a notification (Chess ¹) in the Nav Bar next to the Welcome (***). It is annoying for her, but I don't know how to get rid of it for her.

No there were two games started after the mishap of losing data from the key. One was Foxy and Violette, the other Speed and Apple. The person in question has not been involved in any chess game at any time on my board.

I've pm'd her and asked her what happens when she clicks on it. I'll let you know what she says.

Yeah so at some point you got tagged as a player in an old game. If you click the entry, it should take you to the game itself. If it says the game doesn't exist, we have two options

1 Violette updates to the new notification plugin and it is a quick process to clear your queue.
2 I can go in manually and just clear your queue

It already does. Did you look at the choices in the drop menu?



You just choose the update, keep the data and get rid of the old one, then click the circle beneath and hit next.
