Can you also upgrade to the v2.4.1 in the library when it gets accepted?  It has several bug fixes since the version you are currently running.

I upgraded to 2.4.1, but coincidentally, my partner and I have lost the visual on our ongoing game. Did the upgrade cause that or did I install it wrong?

when you installed, it should have asked if you wanted to transfer all settings and keys. according to your source, none of the keys have any data.

How do I fix it? I know nothing. When computers ask me questions I never know how to answer. What should I say after installation? I'm truly Miss Dummy here.

Should I try re-installing the 2.4.1 version. Visuals on all the other games that have been played are gone, too. I would like to be able to fix my terrible mistake.

I think they might be two different things. One Anna's not getting notified to the start of a game and mine is that the player isn't getting the pop up after a checkmate. Is that possible?

If you didnt tell it to transfer over the old keys from the 2.2.6 version to the 2.4.1 version, then it deleted them. you have to transfer over the keys or all game data is gone.

Right, but you didn't answer my question.

Is it possible that Anna's problem and mine are two different problems? She's not getting notified of new games and I'm not getting wins added from a checkmate when the other playing isn't getting the popup. I don't want to 'prevent' someone from playing when I don't know for sure if they got the pop up or not and I can't see if they did.

She gets it sometimes. I just started a game wit her and she got it, but there were two other recent games where she didn't get it.

You don't have to reinstall the plugin again.  It's already there.  If the admins in support know of a way to retrieve lost keys they haven't told me

Except sometimes they take off and don't come back for a day or so and don't realize it.

Also, I played Anna today and lost, so I could test something. When I got the pop up about losing, I backed out. And went to other threads. When I went back the pop up was gone and never came back. That is how people get around taking the loss or giving wins.

nope. it means instead of it filling the keydata of the new version with the data in the old version, it was emptied. what did support say about possibly recovering data?

likely.  I figured they were getitng the dialogue but not accepting it.  I am changing the dialogue to float center screen to make it more noticable, but if they are doing it on purpose to avoid it tarnishing their record, they should be reprimanded by not being allowed to play for a while.  they are showing their character when they get around the scoring system.

I didn't ask Support. Once upon a time they could 'roll back' a forum to a certain time frame, but that would cause the loss of anything posted after that moment in the past.

I've just decided to accept my awful mistake, and go on, much as I hate to.
