I have one "suggestion", I guess you could call it for your Plugin, Brian: I noticed that it still shows who posted under the NPC and who edited the post. Is there any way that you could make it so the "Last Edit" and "Posted By" are 'hidden'? I know that you'd probably use JavaScript for that, right? I have some people who want to create articles on my forum, and I put in your Plugin so they can do it "anonymously". Some of them want to add their knowledge, but they don't want people to know it's them. They want to go under a "pen name" for lack of a better term. Thank you!!

Alan Vende: Can you link to the forum you're experiencing the issue on? The plugin isn't meant to be used for anonymity. I added the post author to the signature because you can still see who created the post on the mobile version regardless of what plugins you have installed on the desktop version. In addition, plugins only run after the page has loaded so if you have any plugins that hide or remove things they're not completely gone as they're still visible in the page's source. Disabling Javascript in your browser would also render the plugin useless and show the post in its original form. This post from the first page of this thread explains how to remove the signature with the post author.

Oops, sorry about that: psychic-psyghtings.proboards.com is the forum I'm using the Plugin on. I just kind of thought since it's for roleplaying as well, why would you want it to show who wrote the thread? Wouldn't you just want it to be the character? Know what I mean? Thank you!

You also said, I think, in the description that the Plugin makes it so the NPC name shows in the thread widget as well? I tried making that happen on the forum, but it still showed my account.
Does that make sense?

I just kind of thought since it's for roleplaying as well, why would you want it to show who wrote the thread? Wouldn't you just want it to be the character? Know what I mean? Because it still shows on mobile and under other circumstances as I just explained, so there's no real reason to hide the author as it's not truly hidden. In addition, multiple users can post under the same NPC name so it's also there for moderation purposes. You also said, I think, in the description that the Plugin makes it so the NPC name shows in the thread widget as well? I tried making that happen on the forum, but it still showed my account. The authors in the Recent Posts/Threads widgets cannot be changed using the plugin as the post ID is never cited within those widgets. The Display Post widget can have an NPC name show, but in order to make it show you have to add it manually to the end of the title of the container.

It's doing that because there's two mini-profiles in the post's HTML when using the NPC Profiles plugin. My guess is he just has the plugin targeting anything with the .mini-profile class. You'd have to ask Wormo to make a version that only targets the last mini-profile found in a post since the source code of his plugin isn't editable.

BrianI'd like to know if support for the shoutbox could be done. There's a lot of sites, that use the shoutbox for some of the RPG material, and OOC discussions. Would be neat for the NPC's to be able to explain something while they are "logged in" doing multiple posts. Also, Brian, is there a way you could set it so just members could also be set to use a NAP character? I would like to be able to set certain members, and not just certain groups to use certain NPC characters.

Make a hidden group named after the NPC, then add the users to that group. That's the easiest way to manage it on a per-user basis.

Would it be possible to make the user avatar in the thread listing match the NPC when used? andthemightywillfall.boards.net/board/6/lobby You can see that the actual avatar of the account that posted it is used in the NPC list thread, and since the NPCs use a user avatar variable, I feel like this should be possible? But I could be entirely wrong.

But I could be entirely wrong. In the case of the plugin $[user.avatar] is just placeholder text rather than an actual variable. I just use the variable names for familiarity to make it easier to transition between templates and the plugin. As for your actual question: The plugin does indeed support that. You'd just surround the avatar variables with the same spans you'd use for display names in a custom template. Created By: Last Post:

I noticed that this only allows for member groups, but not individual members. Is there anyway I can alter it so that we could place a NPC profile under the control of one person, and not a group?
Apart from that this is an amazing piece of work here, and probably the most helpful key here. AWESOME WORK!!

Make hidden groups named after each of your NPCs and add them to the plugin settings, then only add that user to that NPC's group.
