This isn't currently possible to my knowledge, as the first post's info would not be available on the later pages for it to sticky and thus a plugin wouldn't be possible, but if I am right you can still make this into a feature request. =)

No, what you've done here will suffice. A feature request is a request for the default proboards coding to incorporate. You just post it here and a staffer labels the thread with a green(Ithink) "feature request" label and developers can reference it later on and decide if they want to implement it or not. =3

There isn't an ETA I can provide for feature requests that are marked, and really we can't guarantee that requests will be implemented by our developers. However, down the road when our devs are looking to add in new features, they'll review these requests and will create internal tasks for them if they agree that the request should become a standard feature of the forum software
