01/04/2014 - 1.2.2 - Fixed a bug where backgrounds were sometimes not being shown.

23/03/2014 - 1.2.0 - Group-based mini-profile backgrounds; set by permitted staff in settings tab of plugin.

Suggestion/Request: Would be awesome if we could make one image apply to a whole member group (as in staff setting it from the plugin page)

Would this override the personal setting of members in that group?  Or would it act merely as a default, and group members can set their own backgrounds instead of the group-wide background?

Hm, either way would work. I think an override would be better, since I'd use it to show which "team" members are on for a game, and wouldn't want them to have to delete their personal one until the game was over. It would just be ready and waiting until I switch the overriding one off again. Thanks!

Alright, I'll implement this in one of two ways then: either have the admin settings take priority over user settings, or allow the admin to choose whether to override or simply default (in the event an affected user has no personal background set).  I'm leaning towards the latter, as I think it'll be more useful to a wider range of people, while still implementing your suggestion exactly.

Unless I'm misunderstanding you, that's exactly what this plugin facilitates. Members are able to set their own background image for their mini-profile (other users see the image that user has chosen). If that's not what you mean then please elaborate a bit more.

I agree with you.  I should be able to start working on these updates this afternoon and have them sent over to PB for approval to the library.  This thread will be updated once that happens.

I have submitted 1.2.0 to the library.  I expect it will be reviewed and updated by end of business on Monday.  Permitted staff now have the ability to set backgrounds based on groups, and choose whether or not a group background should override an individual's personal background.

Individual backgrounds are set through the user's profile.  Edit their profile, go to the personal tab, and scroll to the bottom.  You should see what looks like the following:



Simply enter a URL, hit the update button, and you're done.

Alternatively, with 1.2.0 installed you can set backgrounds for entire groups.  Go to the plugin settings (Admin CP -> Plugins -> Manage -> Custom Mini-Profile Backgrounds) and go to the "Group Backgrounds" tab.
