Custom Mini-Profile Backgrounds

ok got to plugins and click on this one...go to settings and click on what kind of members can change their backgrounds....just changed the setting...ill see what my members think

Hi, is there a way to adjust the size of the image? or shrink to fit while keeping the same proportions?

I have added this plugin and moved it to the top.

I have set a background image but its not being displayed for some reason?

I only allowed 3 users on my forum to use this plugin (including me, to test it) but it seems that it's not working and the mini profile background doesn't show up. Please help?

Hi there Bob, 

I have been using this plugin for awhile now, and really enjoy it on my board as do my members and staff. In the past week though, I noticed that for some reason, it no longer gives you the option to upload your own background, when you go under Edit Profile and then the Personal tab. 

I have set the option so that individual member backgrounds override the user group backgrounds. Even though this field is no longer showing up in the Custom Profile Fields, two of my Global Mods who uploaded their personal backgrounds months ago, still have it showing up in their mini profiles. This leaves me even more confused. 

I then tried to use the directions given in the thread below to create a Custom Profile Field which would allow the users to set their own mini-profile backgrounds:

Even though I followed these directions to the letter, I still can't seem to get the personal user background option to work, and override the user group one. 

Any help you can give me is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Only the plugin author can make the necessary changes to their plugin to get it working. While we can identify a problem with the way a plugin is built we can't do anything to fix it on the author's behalf.

Since the plugin creator has not been around and no one else has been able to help, I opened up the initial question I had to members of my own board. One of my newest members TheSupremePatriot was able to shed some light on the matter which was very helpful.

The plugin does work, but has a few quirks. In order for members to set their own, mini profile backgrounds, you would go under Profile > Edit Profile > Personal Tab. 

In the Personal Tab, at first glance the field to set your own background does not show up. But if you refresh the page, it does, and you can upload the background of your choice. 

I wanted to post this in here, in case anyone else has been having the same problems. Hope this helps, and again, many thanks to TheSupremePatriot for sorting this out for me.

Wow- I'm actually surprised to come back and find this as popular (albeit troublesome, it would appear) as it is. Thank you, Shaliza, I will look into this and release a new version some time soon. It has been years since I've put eyes on the code, but I'll look it over!

It may be due to the fact that PB has changed the way profile tabs are loaded now. Many plugins that used the profile tabs ran into this issue. Sadly, I can't remember where the thread is where a PB Admin had shown how to fix it. I think Brian was the one that had posted the JS code needed to work with how the profile page loads now. He should be back in tomorrow at 9am Pacific Time.
