I'm having trouble with the plugin. I have even reinstalled it and the same thing happened again. When I install the plugin, I can go to my profile and click on the Mini-Profile Background field, and it'll show a window giving me the option to add a colour to my profile background, or an image. However, this option does not stay for long and I only see the Mini-Profile Background field, but nothing happens when I click on. Help would be appreciated.

I knew that, but I figured I need to go to the plugin's page on manage plugins and click "Save Changes" every now and then, otherwise the mini-profile preview does not appear. If I click "Save Changes" and go to my profile, then on personal, I can see the mini-profile preview, but if I go to that page a few minutes later there's no mini-profile preview anymore and if I wanted to change the background or text colour, I would need to type the code rather than just choose a colour.

I'm still having trouble with the plugin, the window that shows up when clicking the Mini-Profile Background text field only shows occasionally, the mini-profile preview also doesn't show all the time. It does show when I go to the plugin's settings and click "Save", then quickly go to my profile's settings. However, it's no longer there if I go to my profile's settings again. I have no idea why this is happening, but it's quite frustrating.

Hey there ToxicHybrid,

I was not able to get this plugin to work either. Until the plugin creator comes back to help, we're kind of stuck, sadly.

In the meantime, you can check out this other plugin for mini-profile backgrounds.

It's the one I use on my board, and while I had some questions about it as well, one of my helpful members was able to answer them and I will be happy to help you as well, if needed.

Your image code needs to be in the area I showed above. And place that code in your Mini Profile Background section.

I'm developing a board to "move" my forum to ProBoards from another host, and I put this plugin in. I started using your little "hack" because I was having the same problem you found a fix for... but then I accidentally stumbled across something interesting.

If you have the Profile Page loaded, and then simply refresh it (without exiting... just "open page" {however you normally would, either by clicking the tab and letting it open, or by RIGHT-Clicking and selecting "open in new tab" or "open in new window"}, then RIGHT-Click and select "Reload"), the preview shows up and clicking in the "Mini-Profile Background" entry-box opens a popup with blanks for the image URL and the background color.
So it works fine, but ONLY on a SECOND LOADING of the page.

Just thought you'd be interested to know this little nugget of information!

I help run one forum and own another. The forum I own has a wonderful working version of this plugin. However for the life of me I can not get it working on the one I help run and I have no idea why.

I have been testing this on a test forum and I think I know what is causing it to not show anymore. As soon as I figure out a better way for it to know what tab is selected to make it show, I will push an update.

I am submitting a working version right now. I have tested it in both Firefox and Chrome. Im no longer testing things in IE.

I installed this, but now don't see it in the edit profile section > personal >scroll to the bottom. I am an admin for another forum, but it has been years since I implemented the miniprofile background... I don't remember how to get it going. 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am having a bit of trouble with this plug-in. The "Modify Background Options" pop-up appears for me (because I am the admin), but it doesn't appear for the other members on my forum. As a result, the other members have to manually type out the code, which isn't ideal. Is there a way to resolve this?
