Forum URL: littlebandit.boards.netSome of the members in the forum are asking for forum masks. I'm not sure what that is, but they say that masks will allow only certain users to view certain threads. I have a section of the forum dedicated to CyberNations, and the players there all wish to have private threads. How do I obtain masks, or if that's no available, private threads? Another question is the banners. I want to have a banner in the forum, but there is a setting for the display that shows the forum name superimposed on the banner. If I remove that text to make the banner how I intended, the forum's title disappears from the browser window. I want to remove that text so I may edit the banner how I wanted, but also have the forum name appear on the window. Is there any way to do that? Last question. I have various designs for the banner. I want to have the banners change every month so they can show time progression and alternate. I currently has 12 designs, so the cycle will last one year. Is there a way to automatically change the banners, or will I have to do that manually?

Hi There is the option of Private Threads, but on ProBoards these are threads which only staff and the topic starter can see. Is this what they are after? In regards to the banner, you would need to manually change them each month. If you go into your theme manager, and the click on the theme name, on the following page you should find an option for the Forum Title, choose Display Logo. Craig

I still have the problem of the title taking up space in the banner. If you'll see the forum, I had to modify the banner to include the title (I made a board behind it, but I think it looks rudimentary at best). DO you have any way to get rid of that title without making "Little Bandit forums" disappear from the tab/window title in a browser? Also, I don't think those kinds of threads will be useful to me. I take part in the CyberNations game, but other users must see those threads, and since only the topic starter and I can see them, those threads will be very useless. Is there a plugin or a sort of modification I can make to the forum that will allow me to add members to the thread so only those I choose get to see what's there?

Did you try that Display Logo option i mentioned? That should remove the title from the welcome table, but not the browser title.
You can make categories, or boards restricted to certain groups and ranks, if that would work, but not individual threads. You would also need to place members in groups depending on which boards you want them to have access to.

Individual boards for a single group of people will take up too much space... Are there no plugins that will allow me to make threads private? I mean... there has to be a way, other forums have masks.

I don't know of one in existence. You could try posting in the plugin request board, but i am not sure of the viability of it.
I don't think it has ever really been considered before, not seen it suggested anyways, because if you wanted private, there was always the Private Messaging system. The PMs take a thread form, and you can have multiple members in the thread/conversation, it's just it won't count as posts on the forum.
As you have posted it here now, it will get added to the suggestions for future additions.

I know the Pm's a private, but I was hoping for something more like... a thread. I know there is a chat plugin, but I'm looking more for a private thread kind of thing. The Pm is moving in the right direction, but I honestly doubt that the users will find that convenient.

The personal message system is unfortunately the closest you're going to get to that sort of functionality without having to create boards specifically for conversations between a specific group of users. Our conversation system functions in the same manner as a thread, though unlike posts once you've submitted a message you cannot modify or delete it.

I don't want to sound like I'm complaining or criticizing, but I know that private threads would be great to have. I know your team won't drop everything and do this, but could it be suggested? Thank you for the help.

I can label this thread as a feature request, but since we already have a feature that does the exact same thing I have my doubts as to whether or not it would be accepted.
