You just have to go to your Admin Panel. Admin > Members > Member Groups. Members is in the second row after you go into the Admin panel; all the way on the left. Member groups is on the top far left when you click on Members. Hope this helps!

Sorry, I meant the member group of new members. Like the one you can't edit from the member groups interface.
To put it into context, in a lot of RP forums (especially Proboards ones that allow for account switching), I'd love for a new account to start out as my OOC Account member group by default. The custom fields and mini profile are super messed up when I can't dictate what the 'New Members' group should have, because I've made it in a way that OOC/Staff accounts look different from character accounts, have different fields, etc.
Conversely, it would be simple for current members creating new accounts for their characters to go in and switch their member group themselves. The problem is that new members are going to see a bunch of fields that don't make sense in their Edit Profile and their MP won't display the info. If I could change the settings of the default member group, I'd be fine (when dealing with permissions, if/else statements in the layout, etc.) I mean, I can catch members and change them manually, but it would just look more professional if I didn't have to go in and edit everyone's profile before they can start customizing it.
I'm surprised this isn't a thing already, tbh. I think it was early IF, from when I used to forum, that allowed you to edit the default member group, even change which group is the default. It may still be that way with IF, idk.

Hi Rennat, Unfortunately at this time it's not possible to have a default member group that new members are placed into. They have to be placed in there manually by a staff member after the member's account is created. Closest thing you could do though is create an Open member group, and then the new members can add themselves to the group after they create the account. That could be something to consider for the moment. With the above said, though, I'll mark this topic as a feature request for our developers to consider adding in a function that would allow a member group to be a starting default for new members

Thanks! It may be easier to just allow the starting group to have its own little spot in the Member Groups page, in the same way that forums start with an Admin, Global Mod, and Mod group. That could be simpler.
