ProBoards Theme and Plugin Contest

November 2014

For the month of November we're running a new contest! There will be two winners: One for the best theme, one for the best plugin. Winners will each receive a $50 Amazon Gift Card!



ProBoards members are invited to create a new theme or plugin that fits into one of the following themes:



Themes: Corporate, Clean, Modern, or Flat



Plugins: Useful Utilities, Moderation Tools, or Social.



Contest Rules



1. Plugins and Themes must be new (not already released or just updating an existing plugin).



2. Entry Period. The entry period begins on November 1st and ends on November 30th at 11:59pm Pacific Time.



3. How to Enter. Create your own unique plugin or theme and submit it to the ProBoards Theme or Plugin Library before December 1st. After doing so, post in this thread with a link to your theme or plugin.



4. Entries. All entries must fit within the theme of the contest to be considered eligible to win the prize. Entries may not contain copyrighted material from third parties.



5. Maximum Entries. You may submit a maximum of 2 plugins and 2 themes for this contest. Any additional plugins or themes submitted beyond this limit will be disregarded for the purposes of winner selection.



6. Plugin and Theme Distribution. By entering this contest you provide ProBoards, Inc. a license to distribute your plugin or theme through its website.



7. Winner Selection. ProBoards will review all entries and select the winner within 30 days. There will be no public vote.



8. Eligibility. ProBoards employees and their relatives are not eligible to win this contest. If ProBoards continues to run this contest in following months, the same winner can win a maximum of 3 times per year.



9. Prize. The winners will receive a $50 Amazon Gift Card which will be sent via email to the address you provide within 30 days of the end of this contest.

Another good theme creator said the exact same thing to me when I presented this to them, but they ain't even going to try.

Enabling the Cover Photo feature: You need to add a custom profile field by going to Members > Custom Profile Fields. Then set the following properties for the new field (your changes should save automatically):



Field Name: Cover Photo

Type: Text Field

Options: URL(plain text)

Character Limit: (none)

Location: Member Profiles Only

Who Can Edit: Member And Staff With Power





Adding/Removing items from drop-down menu: Go to Themes > Layout Templates and select Forum Wrapper from the list. Scroll down to the "buttons-dash" class near the bottom. You can add an item by copying an existing item and replacing the name and URL like this:

Cover photo is great!   I'd just like to point out that you should make your breadcrumb bar a higher z-index; the nav tree arrows are floating above them in threads!
